Freddy Garcia was traded to the Phils tonight for Gavin Floyd and a player to be named. My prediction is some form of Jenkins/Mench, and possible prospect will be going to Philly with Liber and a minor leaguer will be coming to Milwaukee tomorrow.

Wrong, no Brewer was apart of that deal.

I know the trade that happened was between the White Sox and Phils. But now that Philly got pitching, Liber is on the market and they said there was talk of Liber for Jenkins/Mench, so I'm just giving an educated guess.

Lieber for Mench should happen now. Neither has great value at this point but maybe the Brewers could get something else out of the deal but Lieber would be a good 5th starter so the Crew doesn't have to rely on Jackson or Villanueva to step in.

i know what u r saying. would u rather give up villanueava or jackson. i mean penny eats up a lot of innings and he is ony 28. i know the dodgers just signed luis gonzalez but they still could use some Of depth. i say trade jenkins and jackson (maybe throw in someone else if that doesnt work). i would say trade graffy with jackson but they dont really need an IF.

why would the crew trade a really good young pitcher though when pitching is what there trying to build this team on? just wondering...i agree he would be good trade bait, but i dont think i would get rid of jackson (even though we did trade away one of our better young pitchers to arizona)

The Cubs traded the 3rd pick already.

The guy the Brewers drafted from the Cubs organization (Edward Campusano-LHP) put up some pretty nice numbers last season....

55.3 IP, 81 K's, 17 BB's.... Looks to be quite a power pitcher, albeit at the A and AA levels.

We traded him to the Tigers though.

Barry Bonds is still looking for a job and now has a new suitor. According to the San Jose Mercury News, the Cardinals have expressed interest in the seven-time MVP, and his negotiating team might not be using the Cards as a mere ploy to extract more money from the Giants, either. Agent Jeff Borris has stated repeatedly that Bonds wants to play for a contender.

I am just going by GM Walt Jocketty's comment today. I am pretty sure he knows.

The Brewers are believed to have a deal in place that would send outfielder Kevin Mench to Baltimore for right-hander Rodrigo Lopez in the event the Orioles fail to sign free-agent outfielder Luis Gonzalez.
