Not that I'm a huge tennis fan, but I do like watching Wimbledon when I get a chance. I'm surprised that no one has commented on the tournament yet. Roddick and Federer are involved in a super marathon of tennis. The match just passed the 4 hour mark.

Roddick 7 6 6 6 12
Federer 5 7 7 3 13

Currently in the 26th game of the 5th set.
Without officials, it would just be recess!

I thought last years Wimbledon final was the best ever between Nadal and Federer but I think this surpassed it. I thought the level of play throughout last years final was amazing maybe even a little bit better than this years, but those guys going at it for as long as they did and still playing some great tennis is phenomenal, this is certainly the best match I have ever seen in my life. This should be a top 5 match of all-time with how much was at stake, just great tennis and hats off to Roddick for the effort he put forth. After the semis, I expected Federer in 3 or 4 sets and after Fed lost the 1st set and then came back in the 2nd set tiebreak and had that comeback being down 6-2 to reel off 6 straight points was amazing. I thought it was over then, Federer took the 3rd set in another tiebreak, and I thought the 4th set would be like 6-2 Federer, but Roddick fought through it got the break and took the 4th set and then words cant do justice to that amazing 5th set, it was unfortunate that Roddick had to lose, but I think this win cements Federer as the greatest ever with grand slam #15.

I think the fatigue from Roddick's last match had to play into this. He looked worn out while Federer was still chugging along.

Roddick should have won this. He was up 4 points in the 2nd set.

I wanted Andy to win so bad But he I think he is making a comeback in tennis. I think last years match was better, because so much of this years was about serve. And does anyone know how many points Roddick will get for 2nd place in the world rankings?

And this was an amazing testimony to Roddicks mental toughness. After being 1 point away 4 times from going up 2 sets to none, he loses and then he almost comes back in the 3rd set tie brake only to have Federer win on another easy shot.

After 4h 18m, Federer wins on the very first game he breaks Roddick's serve in the entire match.

Final set: 16-14. Wow!

I think this match typified how far above the field Roger really is. Andy played pretty much as good as he can play and he still came up short. Granted, he was really close, but still just not good enough. Rafa better heal up fast or we might be seeing another run of Federer titles.
