With roughly 11 games in the books for most teams, a few teams are out to very impressive starts and a few teams are underachieving. I broke some of them up into two groups to decide if these teams that are out to hot starts are for real, or if they will fizzle out. As for the other section, will these teams that are fizzling right now eventually catch fire???

Which Teams Are For Real???
Cleveland 8-3
Orlando 7-4
Atlanta 4-4
New Orleans 8-3
Houston 7-4
Utah 10-1
LA Lakers 8-3
Golden State 7-4

Which Teams Will Improve/Which Are Doomed???
Detroit 6-5
Chicago 3-8
New Jersey 5-5
Miami 4-6
Washington 4-6
Denver 5-4
Minnesota 3-6
Sacramento 5-4
Phoenix 4-6

I think the Lakers are for real, at least, I hope they are.

I think that the Jazz may fizzle out by the end of the year. They will probably still have a good record, but by playoff time I expect them to bow out in the 1st or 2nd round.

i think the bucks are gonna catch fire when we get bobby and charlie back they are playing ok but if they had those two i think they would have won atleast 3 more games this season

San Antonio is for real. They're looking really solid.

Which Teams Are For Real???
Cleveland 8-3
Orlando 7-4
Atlanta 4-4-not sold on them yet, 4-4 isn't anything special.
New Orleans 8-3
Houston 7-4-if they stay away from injury problems they'll be REAL good.
Utah 10-1- championship run?
LA Lakers 8-3- I have to admit. They'll looking real sharp.
Golden State 7-4- I am SHOCKED the smaller lineup is actually working in the West

Which Teams Will Improve/Which Are Doomed???
Detroit 6-5-just start rebuilding now, if they don't they will go into salary cap shock
Chicago 3-8- Don't know if I'm necessarily surprised.
New Jersey 5-5- VC won't be in NJ by the trade deadline.
Miami 4-6
Washington 4-6
Denver 5-4- not sure yet, they could improve and they have the tools to, but I just dont know
Minnesota 3-6- see ya KG
Sacramento 5-4- make a trade for a defensive inside presence and they're back in the game
Phoenix 4-6- shell shocked they're not 10-0.

I told you guys the Lakers would rise again, as they have done time after time in the past when great stars have moved on. They just always find a way to rebuild. Miami may have got the better end of the Shaq trade in the sprinting portion of the race, but in the marathon that is running an NBA franchise, the Lakers are the winners.

Which Teams Are For Real???
Cleveland 8-3 -- They are for real.
Orlando 7-4 -- Not top-of-the-conference for real, but a real playoff contender.
Atlanta 4-4 -- not for real.
New Orleans 8-3 -- For real.
Houston 7-4 -- I'm lost on this team... I don't want to think they are for real, but if Yao is going to keep this play up, then they are for real and should contend deep into the playoffs.
Utah 10-1 -- for real, I expected them to be a lot better last year, though...
LA Lakers 8-3 -- for real.
Golden State 7-4 -- outside looking in come April.

Which Teams Will Improve/Which Are Doomed???
Detroit 6-5 -- will improve, but maybe 7 or 8 seed.
Chicago 3-8 -- may very well go on a run, but are a very streaky team... I would like to say they may be doomed, but they have the ability to improve enough to make the playoffs; if they do, and their hot streak kicks in: title #7.
New Jersey 5-5 -- improve. Jason Kidd is still one of the best PG in all of basketball.
Miami 4-6 -- doomed, and I'm loving it.
Washington 4-6 -- improve because Arenas will probably finish the season with a 38 ppg average.
Denver 5-4 -- improve, Carmelo is better than I thought he would be.
Minnesota 3-6 -- doomed. For god's sake, trade Garnett and give him a shot elsewhere.
Sacramento 5-4 -- They can improve and contend, but I can't see them getting any better than a 6 seed - so I would say improve for now because I think they make the postseason.
Phoenix 4-6 -- will improve. If Amare gets healthier all season, Nash will feed the ball enough for Staud to be a stud again.

I think it's obvious the Cavaliers are a playoff team, but there's no way they will be a threat to win it until they get someone to take the slack off James. And it's partly James fault. I watched him against the Wolves, and even though the numbers were very good, I saw very poor shot selection and just him trying to do too much sometimes. If he tries this against better teams, I don't think they will have success in a seven game series.
Ricky Rubio will be a Pamela Anderson sized bust.
