Easily one of my favorite shows ever. Loved the plot and the character development. Has a 1970's kinda feel to it.

I'm not a horror fan. Would I like this?

It was a great series. But top 5 all time? Cmon it's had 8 episodes. That's like calling a rookie in any sport the greatest of all time. Lots to prove still.

It basically has 3 separate story lines that occasionally intersect.

One is a conspiracy-thriller, the 2nd is a fanatsy-adventure, and the third is a romance-science fiction horror. All 3 storylines contain humor and drama. Its not jump-scare kind of horror, more 80's style I'd say.

It's set in the 80's and there a lot of homages to classic 80 movies and tv shows.

I think if you watched the first episode you would know instantly whether or not you're hooked.

If longevity is your issue...I'll take these 8 episodes vs. any 1 single season of a show in TV history.

Any of the first 3 seasons of lost make those 8 episodes look like a terrible high school project.

Other shows with better single seasons:
Breaking bad.
Game of Thrones
The Sopranos
House of Cards

There is at least 5.

Again good series, but not that good.

No way.

You have 1 original idea in your list, then a book series, a mob show and a political show. Breaking Bad is up there for sure, but the other 3 are like taking candy from a baby.

Watched the first four episodes last night. Can't say the beginning of the pilot was that fun as the father of young boys (anything to do with harm to kids gets to me), but it got interesting. There were a few "scary" moments, which I'm not a fan of, but I'm following along to see what happens the rest of the way. Likeable show so far.

the cool part of the final 4 episodes is when the story lines start tying in together. Episode 5/5/7 were the peak of the season, IMO.
