No surprise. They topped 70 in drilling Lakeland last year as well.

Sounds like all of the WIAC schools had a good weekend. How about LaCrosse beating Division 1-AA South Dakota State University on the road. Should be an interesting year again. Whitewater isn't going to have a cake walk like they think they will.

It was nice to see Gorecki got a couple of carries and a TD (2 carries for 36 yards). Also, Dono completed a couple of passes.

Oshkosh let Ripon hang around most of the first half, but then blew it out in the second half. 57-0.

im just guessing...but knowing they play in the wiac, and knowing how close the game with lax was last year...i doubt ww thinks they are going to have a cake walk...if anything its everyone else on here talking about how good they are...like i said in the preseason poll/ranking...its the wiac...none of that matters...

Don't you try and schedule a "gimme game" for homecoming? I read somewhere Northwestern had the dubious honor of playing in more homecoming games than any other Big Ten team.

It sure seems to me that people have a very short memory. Let's see, last year at Whitewater, I had to listen to that stupid canon go off about 8 times or so...seriously annoying.

Two years ago, at Platteville...Platteville won.

Oh yeah...we forget so easily.[]

yeah this isnt the same ww team that lost 2 years ago...and if you didnt want to hear the cannon, your defense could have stopped ww at least once []

It's not like the football team has complete control over who they get for homecoming. The conference sets the schedule for the team. Then, the university and the alumni office all have input becasuse they organize all the other functions that go with homecoming. You can't put it too early in the year (fewere people attend) and you can't put it too late in the year (weather). Plus, football schedules are made a few years ahead of time. If Platteville picked this year's homecoming game in 2003, Whitewater was about a .500 team then.
