Its so hard to make a team like this when only 1% of the teams play each other. Everything is so subjective. Also a player can be a great player and have poor stats based on a poor team surrounding him. Dont just look at numbers.

I am not, my point is that the EXPERTS do not really look at teams statewide.

Really, how many of the EXPERTS got up NORTH OR NORTHWEST to watch football this fall ?

I'm still waiting for someone to answer this. [:-]

This is precisely why the Coaches all-state is the true ALL-STATE. Who better to judge the guys than the coaches themselves. The coaches All-State goes on regular season achivements.

the coaches is the most accurate...it's what every coach has to game plan against or wishes he had on his team...granted not every coach sees every player, but they know who the top ones are no matter what part of the state...the journal probably knows little to anything about anyone north of west bend, and west of madison

most of the selections are good...some though i do question
The big one I question is Brad McBride from Lodi. Fifth leading rusher in the state and only played in 9 games. 217 carries for 1,980 yards (9.1 per carry), and receives NO credit. There are 23 offensive backs listed as first team or honorable mention, so that means the 5th leader rusher in the state, that played in less games than all of those running backs, is not a top 20 running back???? You've got to be kidding us. What a joke. Hats off to the voters with the blinders on.

I guess I spoke too soon. I see that McBride was selected as honorable mention in the Associated Press poll. I think he was overlooked by the the WSJ all-state team, whatever that is.

Thanks,,,I now see your logic. BUT

Every all state list is flawed and subjective. Wisconsinpreps lists no one from the NW and only one from SW. I do not want to appear to pick on that list, I spoke with it's editor today and he seems like a great guy, he seeked me out for my opinion and I gave it to him. Really, how many of the EXPERTS got up NORTH OR NORTHWEST to watch football this fall ?

I GUESS THE FACT THAT NONE OF THE EXPERTS CARE TO ANSWER THIS SPEAKS VOLUMES.

WHY EVEN CALL IT ALL STATE ?

But the process skews the selections before the coaches ever get a chance to use the knowledge they acquired in film study and networking with other coaches. The process has inherent flaws.

The format also just broadens the field - they don't have to make very many hard choices that way - the type of choices that lead to all the controversy.

Mike is right. They are all imperfect in different ways and for different reasons.

Bellore= 148 tackles in 9 games
Forbes= less than 90 in 14 games
Bellore= D1
Forbes= Community College

Need I say more?

Anybody know when BadgerStatePreps.com will be releasing theirs? If Rhode is going to even do it this year, not sure.

By the way, I got the paper today, and just realized how screwed the North Shore Conference got with the WFCA. Many think the JS poll was biased towards the city, and that's cause it was, but it should be because there are many more people concintrated in that area and more talented players than there are in the north.

North? Don't you mean the rest of the state? That includes a lot more schools and players than just those in the north! They seemed to forget the west, south central, and middle of the state as well as the north.

What is the reason for bashing the hell out of Bellore? I just don't get it. Both are superior linebackers in the state. Everyone has a different opinion on all of this. The North Shore Conference coaches placed Bellore higher on their 1st Team LB's list, therefore the coaches from the North Shore collectively thought that Bellore was a better LB than Forbes. However, Forbes most likely will garner a more attractive scholarship offer than Bellore's offer to Central Michigan (provided he does good work on the ACT and in the classroom from here on out), so that arguement would lead to conclusion that college coaches believe that Forbes is the better LB. This is assuming that NIU or Wisconsin offers him a scholarship (I would be surprised if neither of these didn't).

At any rate, Bellore never got handled like a rag-doll by anybody this year. The Bellore-Forbes WFB-Homestead comparison is beyond retarded. I think even Forbes would tell you that playing LB versus WFB's offense is a little easier than is playing defense versus Homesteads offense. Stop the gameday comparison right there.

Both are great LB's that respent the state of Wisconsin very well and I wish them both the best of luck in the future. In response to your statement that "he will still be number 2 wherever he goes and still be handled like he did in highschool", you are instantaneously discounted and your posts are way too biased. I'm not knocking Forbes or Bellore. I'm knocking your for your stupidity in your statement.
