1-3 Fall-Creek- ranked 4th in the state, behind Reetz, Tweed and Steinke
1-3 Regis- Eaten, Ganske and the rest of the city of Eau Claire
1-3 O-F- Underachieved again last year, behing a strong senior class and 3 solid juniors
4 Altoona- Will be improved and could be dangerous.
5 Mcdonnel- Martell and the run and gun game.
6-7 S-B- Paul Rite...who else they have?
6-7 Thorp- welcome to the WCC
8-9 Cadott..
8-9 Gilman..

Should be a strong conference this year...

DOn't forget the cities of colfax, Stanley-Boyd, and Chetek.

For the east i would say:

1. Colby
2. Marshfield Columbus
3. Owen-Withee
4. Loyal
5. Neillsville
6. Greenwood
7. Augusta
8. Granton

Overall i say Colby winning it, too much talent and expierience, with MC one game back. OW has a pretty good core of kids but no means can be forgotten about, lots of depth. Loyal returns that Gordo kid with the mask hes pretty decent, Neillsville has a solid JR class but all of them are cocky, Greenwood will beat Augusta and Granton, then ya Augusta and Granton.

It would be a major upset if Colby didn't win the East this year.
I would put Greenwood higher than 6th though.......it didn't take the football program long to reload and get back in the playoffs and the basketball program should be reloaded again and finish in the upper half of the conference.

Fall Creek will win the conference going undefeated. Nobody will be able to touch the depth that Fall Creek has. They have Matt Steinke and Jordan Reetz both being in the top 5 for scoring in the Cloverbelt Conference last year. They also have Matt Dickenson and Luke Tweed. This team will be led by those main four players and then the very deep bench that they have. They have Cullen Haldeman, Zach Jacobson, Andy Kragness, and Shannon Herrick. Nobody will be able to touch this team in this conference.

My predicted order:

1. Fall Creek

2. Regis/Thorp
3. Regis/Thorp

Everybody Else!!!

Regis went undefeated in the Western Cloverbelt last year and I believe that they lost too much inside presence from last year's senior class with the 6 foot 6 inch Mike Nezworski. Mike was the key inside presence they had on defense and that is the reason that Regis was able to shut down Fall Creek in the sectional semi-finals last year. I believe that with Nezworski out of the middle and a couple of other tall seniors they had from last year that Regis will not have the inside presence to contend with the likes of Fall Creek. I don't think that anybody from the Western or Eastern Cloverbelt will be able to contend. Fall Creek is too big, too fast, and too deep for anybody to contend with them.

Fall Creek will be #1 and undefeated in the Cloverbelt this season.

If any team has a chance to go undefeated, id say Fall Creek has the greatest chance, but this would be very unlikely. We'll see how they get by the first couple of conference games

I agree that FC probably has the best shot....but the conference lost Augusta(weak) and added two teams that will compete for the upper half of the conf(SB and Thorp). Altoona should be better.....The conference is better than last year. OF beat FC last year.
Regis does well because they, IMO, play the best D in the conference. I haven't seen another team that takes D as serious as they do.

IDK, the conference is too stacked, IMO, for any team to go undefeated. It will be tough to bring your A game for 90% of your season.

I agree with you about Colby, but i still disagree with you about Greenwood, as stated about us my senior year, Greenwood is returning a bunch of people with no expierience.

Greenwood took a hit though, I believe they lost Dustin winkle for the season because he tore his ACL in football against Owen-Withee.
A Playoff will be much more fair than the BCS.

What does Thorp have that Altoona and O-F dont have?? Just wondering how they are predicted so high

Yea, i agree, the Conference will be dominated mostly by Juniors and Seniors this year. Thorp lost their two main offensive threats(Horn/Strzok) and are left with only Pszeniczny and Olejniczak as scoring threats. Sure, they will have younger players to step up but in a conference with mostly upperclassmen, the impact their younger players will have may not be enough to compete with/Beat some of the top teams in the conference.
