Waunakee and DeFo on Friday is going to be one heck of a high school football game. Could be a preview of the regional final game.

Tigerguy- Love the work and time you out into these but your brackets don't divide the 4 undefeated conference champs (Waunakee if they beat DeForest, Hartford, Waterford, Mil Reagan), which is usually a priority.  I can see this happening:

A:
1. Hartford vs 8. GB Southwest
2. Hortonville vs 7. De Pere
3. Pulaski vs 6. West Bend East
4. Slinger vs 5. Kaukauna

B:
1. Brookfield Central vs 8 Mil Vincent
2. Men Falls vs 7. Mil Reagan
3. Brookfield East vs 6. Germantown
4. Homestead vs 5. Waukesha West

C:
1. Waterford vs 8. Oregon
2. Milton vs 7. Racine Park
3. Watertown vs 6. South Milwaukee
4. Wilmot vs 5. Burlington

D:
1. Waunakee vs 8. La Crosse Central
2. DeForest vs 7. Marshfield
3. River Falls vs 6. Monona Grove
4. Superior vs 5. Holmen

Say what you want about the City Conference, but an undefeated conference champion isn't even awarded a Level 1 home game?

King will probably get one. The Richardson division is stronger and they have two big NC wins over D1 schools. The Blackbourn champ won't. Nor should they. Reagan does well relative to MPS, but a 9-point NC win over D5 Brookfield Academy as your best win isn't gonna get you much support in a D2 seeding meeting featuring GMC, C8 or SLC teams.

Superior isn't going to go in with the Madison schools. They'll stay with the north centra/Fox Valley group. I don't see the WIAA splitting up River Falls and Superior. So from TigerGuy's groupings, I'd see River Falls going to A, Kaukauna going to B, one of the B teams going to C, and Watertown going from C to D.

Unless, of course, they send River Falls to a totally different conference. Then they've got no problem splitting them up.

When 18 of 32 qualifiers are huddled within 30 miles of each other in 1 corner of the state...

Grouping is so arbitrary and subjective that no one should ever be surprised when any team ends up in any grouping. It only comes down to how a handful of individuals in Stevens Point feel on 10/18.

I can't wait to call it. Did both Waunakee-DeForest games last year, and looking forward to potentially two more this year (if DeFo is D2--they're right on the cut line for D3). DeForest brought pretty much everyone back from last year. Waunakee is Waunakee, but they've been bit by the injury bug this year. I think it'll be a lot like the Level 2 game last year--back and forth and down to the final drive of the game.

Milwaukee Vincent had to forfeit more games *eyeroll* and is out of the playoffs. Fortunately this didn't qualify any more MPS teams.

I believe this puts Fennimore in in the latest projections meaning all cutlines from D6 on up move up one school.
