holy sh*ttttt to the se bracket....
...geez....

indeed. at least the champion...should they come out of that bracket can truely say they are the best.

interesting move putting kewaskum in the north insead of in the south. they would be my favorites to come out of the north should the wiaa put them there

it would be nice, unfortunately there are that many good teams in that area with close to the same enrollment (meaning same division). its really unfortunate that some of these really good teams are going to have short runs in the playoffs because they will be playing each other in the second and third rounds instead of level 5 like it should be. it should make for a very interesting 4 and a half weeks of playoff football.?

I realize you have no way of knowing how this is going to play out, and that these are strictly predictions based on now, but you have McFarland ahead of Big Foot in the SW? What are your thoughts there?

It's based on the records of the teams they've beaten in the conference. Tie-breaker from the WIAA rules and regulations.

I hope the S.E. bracket is mixed up a bit

Better yet just move U.G. to the S.W. and i'll be happy

Wish the WIAA would seed teams traditionally - #1 plays #32, etc. I know it will never happen - some real good teams may not even make it out of the first round based on this flawed system.

i totally agree, but that could mean a team from say janesville needs to go to say green bay in the first round on a tuesday night the wiaa would not like that at all. also with the cost of gas, i doubt the wiaa would ever consider doing this, while they should, i doubt they will unfortunately.

Notre Dame would be seeded higher than Kewaskum on account of the fact they play one more conference game. However, Kewaskum has a tough test this Friday against New Holstein (6-1, 4-1) and Notre Dame plays Ashwaubenon (6-1, 6-0) in Week 9, so both teams may finished undefeated, but both may end up with a loss.

I agree the SE bracket is a killer. The Woodland didn't do itself any favors by going to one conference this year. The WIAA places schools based on "conference champions" and if there is only one undefeated team in the conference (most likely whoever wins this Friday between Pewaukee and Ike) will be the champ and get the seed. Last year, the Woodland had three teams get seeds as they were all conference champs or co-champs. The WIAA playoff manual is here if you want to see how the process works: [link=http://www.wiaawi.org/football/fbplayoffmanual.pdf]http://www.wiaawi.org/football/fbplayoffmanual.pdf[/link]

It would be interesting to see McFarland play against Edgewood again in the playoffs; the two teams played each other twice last year, with McFarland winning in the regular conference season and Edgewood winning the Playoff game.

I would also be excited to see a Big Foot/McFarland matchup that didn't happen this year; the two teams were the powerhouses in their respective North/South Rock Valley conference, and both can finish the regular season undefeated.

However, I don't see Edgerton making the playoffs--they play Big Foot (#1 D4) this week, and then McFarland (#7 D3) the week after, which, if they lose both games, would put them with a 3-4 conference record and unable to qualify. Their loss to Jefferson last week could have cost them the chance at the postseason.
