D would be so tough but I can’t see Lancaster not winning that grouping and facing Racine Lutheran to make state. That should be a heck of a game. Regis is a no brainer to win their bracket and the state title in my opinion. The other bracket would be very interesting as I could see abbotsford markesan manawa or auburndale winning it. Manawa beat Markesan week 1 7-0 and I could see that as a level 3 game. Auburndales losses are to Edgar and stratford and I think their a solid team also as is Abbotsford. I know Abbotsford lost their stud from last year and snuck out a win over Greenwood last night. Not sure how good they are and if their as good as their 4 ranking. Manawa two losses are to Amherst and Kewaunee which are both top teams in D5. I’ll be a homer and take Manawa to take on Regis level 4 and they’ll get taken to the wood shed but quite honestly I strongly believe they would compete with Stratford and possibly win the D4 state title.
Connor Kurki could be starting QB for Badgers this year no doubt!!

Pretty much agree with everything you said.  Lancaster is much better than last years team, and despite starting slow (14-7 win over Pec Argyle?) Lancaster always peaks at playoff time.  However, I am not sure Regis is quite unbeatable.  I picked Regis to win it all, but they will have some competition.  First, Racine Lutheran beat two top 5 teams in D4.  Regis hasnt really played anyone besides Colby. And for comparisons, Regis beat Colby, though the game was 14-9 at halftime. The score ended up being 40-9. Spring Valley beat Colby 39-0.  Spring Valley is a threat, but an even bigger threat is Mondovi.  Nobody is talking about them.  They have not given up a point, and have outscored opponents 48-0.  They play Spring Valley at home, which I think they will win. Regis does have incredible depth, the most of anyone in the divisison. Interesting you mention Regis competing in D4, as it is evident there is less and less parity between the elite teams from D4 to D7 the last few years.  Here is how I would rank the top six D6 teams
1. Regis
2. RaLu
3. Mondovi
4. Lancaster
5. Spring Valley
6. Mineral Point

Yeah, Regis may not be chock full of elite talent but their depth is ridiculous for a D6 squad and that's what gets them by.

Certainly looking forward to seeing how Mondovi shows against SV (and vice versa). The DSC has some stinker teams this year, so, not sure what to take from Mondovi's shutout streak here.

RaLu's victories over RSC and ML weren't unexpected, but one thing that needs to be taken into account is that neither opponent was on the level they were last year and their place in the rankings was feeding off of that. Still not sure what to make of RSC this year period. They didn't exactly blow the doors off Marshall. I fear they may get taken to the cleaners by Lake Mills if they fall into D4.

Lancaster is a year older and a year wiser...but that doesn't help you match up with RaLu's speed. Wouldn't put it past Hoch and Co. to devise some way of slowing that down now that they've seen it though, should that matchup come to pass.

Mondovi is big and athletic. Regardless of what division they end up in they will be tough.  Getting 7 straight shutouts isnt easy. Has anyone done a full season of shutouts?  I know Shiocton had 7 shutouts during the regular season in 2013 and only gave up 21 points during the regular season, 14 to Defending D5 Champion Amherst.  For comparison, Mondovi and Regis both had common opponents in Osseo Fairchild. Regis won 48-20 and Mondovi won 47-0.  I think if Regis and Mondovi meet it will be a great game. Lancaster is good but no as good as any of the past state teams from 2011-2014.  I think they are the only team from the South thay can give RaLu a game. Maybe Mineral Point.

Mineral Point plays at Lancaster in Week 9, so the winner will be the top seed in the SW.

Stratford has also shutout every opponent so far but plays Edgar this Friday and I’d expect Edgar to score in some manner. Stratford is awesome but the only team that they’ve played that I’d consider better than average is Columbus and perhaps Auburndale. Either way Barton’s a stud plus they have another D1 lineman so good luck running on them. They lost their stud rb from last year so hard to really know if their really that much better. Manawa in 1984 shutout every opponent in regular season and then lost their first playoff game to Peshigo giving up 24 points. Of course that’s when there were only 5 divisions and only conference champs and second place teams made playoffs. Honestly wouldn’t mind seeing that again some day.
