Let me try Bo Ryan's routine.

Antigo @ Rapids- Rapids is coming off of a VERY strong offensive showing against Tomah. Antigo, also coming off of a very impressive showing against a team that gave Rapids a scare. Rapids just has too much speed, and conditioning. (Red Raiders pluck the Red Robins)

SPASH @ Rhinelander- Ok, this is my "Up-Set" pick. Rhinelander is playing REALLY good ball at the moment. I think they will catch SPASH sleeping much like they did 2 years ago. (Hodags prove the Panthers ARE the mythical creatures.)

Wayzata MN @ Marshfield- I do not know much about Wayzata, but I do know they smeared Marshfield last year. I just think Wayzata will win a VERY close one.
(I got nothing here....)

DC Everest @ Wausau West- Everest will win, but not after a scare from the confident Warriors. (Warrios get lost in the trees)

Wausau East @ Merrill- Merrill will bounce back after an embarrassing defeat. (Blue Jays dive-Bomb the Lumber Jacks)

Week #1= 3-2
Week #2= 4-1
Week #3= 3-2

Again, if you would have read my article on last nights game before you posted you would know a little more about Wayzata. They graduated all 22 starters, but were still ranked No. 4 in the large school division prior to being whacked by Cretin-Derham Hall last night. I happened to catch a replay of their game on Fox Sports North off the satellite last night when I got home. They are a school of about 2500 students so they always have great athletes. As far as how the MFLD-Wayzata game comes out it will depend on if the Tigers can get their act together after a miserable offensive performance against the trees last night. I think the close loss to SPASH took a lot out of them and they might not recover enough to even make the playoffs. A major change in attitude will be needed.

I was really impressed with how Coach Steffenhagen mixes in talent from the lower classes to make an upgrade to his team. The freshman DE/LB Zagzebski, at times looked really good. Sophomore defensive back Matt Kerswill was a difference maker in the game with his athletic ability and speed. On one play he was beat deep but came back to get his hand in and knock away a pass that would have been a big gainer in the first series of the game. Then of course the kickoff return and the interception basically sealed the victory.

Kerswill is listed as a QB/DB, so it will be interesting to see if he spends his high school career as a d-back, or if he will move to QB his junior and senior years.

Anyone know why Sutton only played the opening series last night against West? He looked healthy ran for 49 yeards on 7 carries and never returned. It was a pretty close game thoughout with West actually looking better offensively so I would have thought we would see more Sutton. Just curious if anyone knew if they were just resting him and he will be back next week?

Antigo flat out controlled the line of scrimmage, and played a lot more physical than rapids did that's why we won. speed kills but being physical kills speed. show some respect we are a good team and some of you still don't understand that. enough said now we gotta get ready for Lakeland.

What happened to rapids? Was there a major injury or did Rapids just over look Antigo?

A few may have been anticipating my stance on the game. So here it is.

This game reminded me a lot of the Wausau East game last year. The plays were there for Rapids, but they turned it over in crucial stages in the game, and flubbed golden oppertunities. Also tackling was a HUGE error on Rapids. They seemed to only attack the upper body, which wont stop a powerful runner. They needed to focus on the legs, which they did not do. Also, the Antigo did something that one else has done, and that was eat clock, and kept Rapid's D on the field most of the game keeping the Offense off the field.

Its easy to say that maybe a little better luck here and there would have changed the outcome, which it may have, but the fact is Antigo showed up and Rapids didn't, but I can guarantee that Biolo will have them ready for East.

As for the tainted water, I never heard anything about it, but, If I remember right, I was right on the 50 Yard Line on the Rapids side, and saw Davis standing over a garbage can, and the managers taking the cart to the school to get more water after watching them dump them. I will question my buds on the team about it. Because IF it was tainted, The combination of that, and Antigo keeping them on the field most of the game I think wore them out.

Antigo did win 24-6, however. I heard that they did a great job with clock management and kept the very talented Rapids offense off of the field, which I'm guessing made a huge difference in the game. But that's strategy and coaching which is a huge part of the game. I dont' doubt that there were some sick kids on the sideline, but I highly doubt that the Rapids water was a reason they lost this game. Give some props to Antigo, they came to play when it seems like Rapids didn't.
