I will be very interested to see how your pick of Hamilton over Tosa West turns out. The boys from West feel they have an excellent chance to have a very good seasonand aren't planning on losing to Hamilton.

Thanks DB, you know for obvious reasons why I chose Hamilton, furthermore to avoid bulletin board material I will not go deeper into how or why this will happen.

I do disagree with the Riverside and Bay View picks and here's why. Now that I am fully emersed in the conference I know that despite the poor reputation city teams have-especially in the beginning of the season, I will say that Riverside has a decent shot. The staff down there has done a good job at getting the kids involved in football related things throughout the year-something other city programs often do not do. Throw in some D-1 quality kids and I think Tosa East will have its hands full. Same thing with Bay View.

As for Ward, he is now at Hamilton but will miss this season due to the 365 ban.

Vincent will struggle a bit but there to they have a new coach who is a hug upgrade compared to last season.

If you can't score, you can't win

The boys from TW need to be knocked on their behinds, losing to a City team would do it...NSC picked Hamilton probably because it'd be unwise for him to pick against his team.

Anyway...

Tosa East - Riverside may beat them if this was Week 6, but it generally takes City teams a bit to get going.

South - Washington isn't forfeiting the first couple games? That hasn't happened in years.

Madison - Pulaski lost a bit of talent I believe.

Tosa West - Hamilton could challenge.

Catholic Memorial -
Tech's cupboard is bare for the time being, thanks to a glutton of a suburban school.

Gilford -
Vincent lost Wilder, Ward and a few others...

Wilmot -
I could see BV pulling this one out, common sense says to pick the non-City team though.

It's called worrying about your own business, and too many people are sticking their nose into other people's including TW, TE, GBP, etc...

Anyway....

                Milwaukee Riverside 31
Wauwatosa East 7

Total dominance by Riverside. Tosa East fumbled the opening kick and Riverside recovered and it was all downhill from there.

Riverside's defense was swarming and absolutely destroyed Tosa East's front five. Mark Martin had two great "bait the QB" INTs in a row in the 2nd half and Donovan Robinson (?) recovered a bad shotgun snap in the end zone for a TD. Very impressed by Riverside's defense.

Tosa East got very little offensive production until sophomore Mike Cupertino entered at QB and they ran predominantly with him, and even then it was a struggle for Tosa East to move the ball. Starting QB Cameron Reiland took a lot of shots from Riverside's defense.

Riverside's offense was fairly good, but really didn't get going until late 3rd quarter against a now worn down Tosa East, who has a lot of guys going both ways. Joe Janssen was a standout for Tosa East as he probably kept the score from being worse than it was.

Zach Schwabe still didn't impress me all that much through the air (inaccuracy) but showed surprisingly good running ability, scoring two TD's.

The addition of Shane Covington will be a huge boon to Riverside's offense as he made several big plays with the ball. Keith Ingram, Albojay Deacon and Jessy Liddell are all good backs. Couldn't get much of a read on our own AllState02 (Ken Campbell) as Tosa East threw away from him most of the night.

P.S. Riverside's #78, sophomore Christian Ragsdale, has to take the lead in the biggest player in the state poll, he's listed at 6'3", 400 lbs...Riverside doesn't even have a pair of black game pants for him it appears as he was wearing a pair of white practice pants.

Apparently Washington played Marshall, not South.

Milwaukee Washington 46
Milwaukee Marshall 8

Washington RB Joe Davis with 10 carries for 312 yards and 5 TD's.
