Roncalli 60
Milwaukee Pulaski 46

Whitefish Bay Dominican 50
Merrill 35

Racine St. Catherine's 54
Kettle Moraine Lutheran 49

Racine Case 61
Maple Northwestern 54

Seymour 58
Oconomowoc 45

Seymour has their typical well-rounded team with a lot of guys who can consistently knock down the three. Cooney's Paul Williams kept his team in it with a nice day at the office.

Milwaukee Washington 64
Kimberly 55

Washington outscored the Papermakers, 22-10, in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Kimberly shot poorly from the FT line and missed a lot of point blank shots late in the game and that ultimately cost them the win.

Pius 54
Tosa East 32

Pius jumped out to an 18-2 lead and never looked back. This is the weakest I've ever seen Tosa East.

Arrowhead 67
Menomonee Falls 66 (OT)

One of the best HS games I've seen in recent memory. With Roy Williams from UNC in attendance, J.P. Tokoto scored 18 points and grabbed 14 boards despite not playing the second quarter due to foul trouble. This back-and-forth affair was not settled until a Ben Mills putback on an Andy Fox miss put Arrowhead in the lead with 15 seconds to go in overtime, and two attempts from J.P. Tokoto and John Cording tantalizingly rolled around the rim and off before time expired.

Wisconsin Lutheran 61
Catholic Memorial 59

After the previous barnburner, this was a somewhat sleepy affair with CMH dominating the first quarter and WISCO dominating the rest of the way until missed FTs allowed CMH to crawl back in late. Only missed FTs with 1.5 seconds left and blocked desperation three at the horn preserved the WISCO victory.

Did anybody else find it strange that there was only one concession stand open during the shootout?? Was a pain in the _ _ _.....

Is film of the games going to be up on the site? And if so, when? I'd sure like to see the Arrowhead-Menomonee Falls game and the Seymour-Northwestern matchup.

I saw DB was courtside taping the game and I'm sure he'll have it up shortly.

Rick and DB are both filming today's games. Rick will be bringing the video back tomorrow, but we'll be doing the WBCA Classic tomorrow. It may not be until next week that we actually get the video downloaded, edited, and posted. Between games DB filmed earlier in the year on that camera, the WBY event, the WBCA event, and the Big Rivers/WVC Challenge we're also filming, there's probably going to be close to 30 games we'll (mostly Rick) will be working on.

Yeah, that was weird. There were two open tonight, however.

Yes, as Travis said, Rick and I filmed every game today (actually I'm not sure if Rick got all of the morning session, I believe he said he got there in time to film the second OT of Merrill/KML). I also filmed three games on Day 1 (it was as much as the camera batteries [even with the charger] and the Packers game would allow). Those Day 1 games were Kimberly/Milwaukee Washington, Falls/Arrowhead and CMH/WISCO.

Expect to see the games appear over the course of the next week or so. Tomorrow Rick and Travis will be filming at the WBCA Classic in Madison, adding more action to the highlight reel.

WBY Shootout highlights will include:

A handful of spectacular dunks from the high-flying J.P. Tokoto and Jon Cathey-Macklin.

The exciting final 20 seconds of Falls/Arrowhead.

UNC's Roy Williams taking in a game! (Unless Rick cuts the footage!)

Dan Sayles' dramatic buzzer-beating game-winner.

Dueling buzzer-beating long treys by Flavien Davis and Russ Finco.

Cooney's Ryan Prom raining threes.

And much, much more!

It's nice to know my efforts didn't go unnoticed.

Also, here's a shout-out to the guys from Burlington Catholic Central that I chatted with during the Falls/Arrowhead game.

thanks for taping/posting/reporting all these games. there was a time and age where all you got was a final score and maybe a box score in the paper. God love technology and thanks for putting in the work guys.

Did he have anyone thrown out?

J.P should take notes from T.J Bray about how to shoot free throws. You can dunk all you want but if you can't score from the free throw line what good does it do. "hack a Tokoto" He does have very good handles i must say. Cmh seemed to be more of a team and Men. Falls was lackluster on D( except all the blocks from Tokoto)

Day 2 Scores:

Merrill 49
Kettle Moraine Lutheran 48 (2 OT)

Whitefish Bay Dominican 50
Roncalli 41

Seymour 53
Maple Northwestern 35

Milwaukee Pulaski 56
Pius XI 44

Pulaski's defense stifled Pius as the Rams rode Roy Marshall's 24 points to victory.

Oconomowoc 52
Kimberly 51

A tip-in by Matt Craggs off a Logan Hietpas miss with 3 seconds left was waived off on a questionable over-the-back call and Cooney held on to win. Cooney was led by Ryan Prom who was 5-7 from three-point range and finished with 19 points.

Racine St. Catherine's 55
Marquette 52

After a first half which saw Marquette in control of things, Steve McWhorter absolutely dominated the third quarter to put St. Cat's in the lead, and with help from Marcus Boehm (18 points), McWhorter kept the Angels in front for good.

Tosa East 57
Milwaukee Washington 56

Color me surprised, but the Red Raiders rebounded from yesterday's dreadful performance to stun the Purgolders on Dan Sayles' running three-pointer at the buzzer (can't wait to see the highlights to see if he jumped from behind the line though) after Washington had made a late charge to grab the lead. Washington will have to learn how to win games when they are not the ones dictating tempo, and when playing at 110 mph is a detriment not a boon, otherwise the Purgolders will fall short of winning state again. Give Coach Arndorfer and his kids all the credit in the world, but there really is no reason that Tosa East should have controlled this game like they did. For Washington's sake, I hope they learn a lot from this performance.

Wisconsin Lutheran 56
Arrowhead 52

It seems my assertion that WISCO is "The Flavien Davis Show" this year was wrong. It's definitely "Flavien Davis and Co. (Part 2)"...WISCO forced Arrowhead to play from behind the whole game, and the Warhawks clearly suffered for it. Ben Mills struggled early in his matchup down low with Flavien Davis, but similar to yesterday, turned it on in the second half and brought his team back, finishing with 22 points and 18 rebounds, and showing good touch around the basket. Unfortunately, one night after a stellar all-around performance, the rest of the Warhawks were rather lackluster, and Flavien and Co. pounced.

After watching #24 the last two days, you can talk about Vander until you're Blue in the face, but the best overall player in the state, in my mind, is Flavien Davis, he does it all. Too bad he's only a shade over 6'4".

Catholic Memorial 68
Menomonee Falls 63

J.P. Tokoto put on a show everywhere but from the FT line (3-11), and in the end, poor FT shooting and bad shot selection as a team (and a heavy doses of CMH's T.J. Bray) doomed the Indians.

The Falls adults sitting behind me win the worst fans award for their incessant complaining about every little thing. Maybe someday J.P. will get every call (even when its not necessarily the right call), but until then, just relax and get off the stripes' back. It says something when the students are better behaved. I will give props to the more "in tune" Falls fan I chatted with after the game though...[8D]

----

All in all, it was a ridiculously good two days of b-ball. As usual, Mark Miller put on a great tournament.
