I recently found out that the WIAA releases the grouping assignments for each sectional semifinal way before the season even starts, so I decided to predict each D3 team's final records an which seed they will likely get. I did a similar thing for the football season but with all playoff-eligible teams and had a ton of fun doing that. I definitely won't do this with other divisions, but I may do a boys D3 basketball prediction similar to this as D3 basketball for both boys and girls is far more interesting in my opinion than the other divisions.
There are a few conferences, like the Capitol-North, East Central, and Rock Valley for example, that are very chaotic and gave me a headache trying to predict, so they could be very wrong when the playoffs actually arrive.

Section 1, Semifinal A:
I thought Prescott had the best chance at the 1-seed, but after two consecutive losses, I don't see that happening. The argument between Bloomer and Amery getting the 1-seed will be very tough. I think Bloomer will get it if they win out the rest of their schedule even though I don't think they are as good as Amery or Prescott.
1. Bloomer, Heart O'North - 21-1 (14-0)
2. Amery, Middle Border - 21-1 (13-1)
3. Prescott, Middle Border - 20-2 (13-1)
4. Hayward, Heart O'North - 14-8 (11-3)
5. Northwestern, Heart O'North - 17-5 (10-4)
6. Baldwin-Woodville, Middle Border - 11-10 (9-5)
7. Osceola, Middle Border - 7-15 (4-10)
8. Saint Croix Central, Middle Border - 5-17 (4-10)
9. Barron, Heart O'North - 5-17 (5-9)
10. Ellsworth, Middle Border - 6-16 (2-12)
11. Somerset, Middle Border - 5-17 (2-12)
12. Spooner, Heart O'North - 2-18 (2-12)
I'm confident up until the 6-seed. The rest of the Middle Border seems pretty even, so they could be in a completely different order. I think Barron at the 9-seed might be a stretch as Barron lost to Somerset much earlier in the season, but that was their very first game. I think Northwestern is a better team than Hayward, but with their split series and an extra conference loss for Northwestern, Hayward has a better argument for that fourth spot.

Section 1B:
I think G-E-T at the top is a lock. The 2-seed is up for grabs by a couple different teams, and that really depends on how Arcadia finishes their conference schedule.
1. Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, Coulee - 21-1 (12-0)
2. Arcadia, Coulee - 18-4 (9-3)
3. Stratford, Marawood-South - 17-5 (13-3)
4. Elk Mound, Dunn-St. Croix - 16-6 (10-4)
5. West Salem, Coulee - 13-9 (7-5)
6. Westby, Coulee - 13-9 (7-5)
7. Altoona, Cloverbelt-West - 11-10 (10-4)
8. Nekoosa, South Central - 9-13 (6-4)
9. Adams-Friendship, South Central - 11-11 (6-4)
10. Black River Falls, Coulee - 3-19 (2-10)
11. Mauston, South Central - 4-18 (2-10)
12. Viroqua, Coulee - 1-21 (0-12)
I haven't seen a score for the West Salem @ Altoona game yet, so I'm assuming it was postponed due to bad weather. If Altoona wins, they may jump a couple of spots depending on how other teams argue/vote. BRF and Mauston both have a decent case for the 10-seed, but I think BRF will get more votes with more Coulee teams than South Central teams for support.

Section 2A:
If Freedom goes undefeated in the North Eastern conference, I think they have a better case to make for the 1-seed. If they end up dropping a game, there is no way that Amherst isn't at the top. I guess it depends on how other North Eastern teams vote for/against Freedom.
1. Freedom, North Eastern - 21-1 (18-0)
2. Amherst, CWC-East - 21-1 (12-0)
3. Wrightstown, North Eastern - 17-5 (15-3)
4. Little Chute, North Eastern - 15-7 (12-6)
5. Oconto Falls, North Eastern - 12-10 (9-9)
6. Peshtigo, Packerland - 11-11 (8-8)
7. Clintonville, North Eastern - 8-13 (6-12)
8. Wittenberg-Birnamwood, CWC-East - 10-12 (8-4)
9. Xavier, Bay - 7-15 (4-10)
10. Tomahawk, Great Northern - 4-18 (2-10)
11. Northland Pines, Great Northern - 1-19 (0-12)
I'm not sure on which teams will get seeds 6 through 8. I think Wittenberg-Birnamwood will probably be lower than the others because the CWC is a conference of much smaller and weaker teams compared to the Packerland or North Eastern conferences.

Section 2B:
If Valders wins the head-to-head match-up over Kewaunee, their chances for the 1-seed are almost certain.
1. Valders, Eastern WI - 19-3 (14-0)
2. Kewaunee, Packerland - 20-2 (16-0)
3. Kiel, Eastern WI - 15-7 (12-2)
4. Sheboygan Falls, Eastern WI - 16-6 (10-4)
5. Southern Door, Packerland - 15-7 (12-4)
6. Cedar Grove-Belgium, Big East - 10-9 (7-6)
7. Brillion, Eastern WI - 9-13 (7-7)
8. Two Rivers, Eastern WI - 9-13 (5-9)
9. New Holstein, Eastern WI - 8-14 (4-10)
10. Chilton, Eastern WI - 6-16 (2-12)
11. Denmark, North Eastern - 5-17 (4-14)
12. Sturgeon Bay, Packerland - 2-20 (2-14)
I think this is mostly straight forward. Brillion through Chilton could shift around a little bit depending on how these lower Eastern WI teams play.

Section 3A:
PdC should easily have the 1-seed with their only possible loss in my opinion to Waukon, a highly-ranked Class 3A team in what is basically the D3 equivalent in Iowa. The rest of the top four seeds all have a strong case for the 2-seed, and depending on how they play in their respective conferences, this meeting could take forever.
1. Prairie du Chien, SWC - 21-1 (10-0)
2. Platteville, SWC - 18-4 (8-2)
3. Wisconsin Dells, South Central - 19-3 (10-0)
4. Lodi, Capitol-North - 17-5 (8-2)
5. Evansville, Rock Valley - 13-9 (12-6)
6. Richland Center, SWC - 13-9 (6-4)
7. Beloit Turner, Rock Valley - 11-11 (8-10)
8. Poynette, Capitol-North - 10-11 (3-7)
9. Madison Edgewood, Badger-South - 4-18 (2-12)
10. Dodgeville, SWC - 7-15 (2-8)
11. River Valley, SWC - 7-15 (0-10)
12. Edgerton, Rock Valley - 1-21 (0-18)
The Rock Valley was a pain to go through. It is so tangled with which teams have won and lost to others. Edgewood is probably the best 9-seed in D3, but with a 4-18 record, they will have a tough time getting a higher seed. It amazes me that just two seasons ago they were the state champs with three total losses.

Section 3B:
Marshall should be the 1-seed as long as they only lose up to one more game. The only games they really could lose are to Monroe and Lakeside Lutheran, and those games could be interesting. The next three teams can make a really good case for that 2-seed. If Martin Luther can beat Shoreland Lutheran, I think they have a better argument to be made even though Lakeside Lutheran beat them in their holiday tournament.
1. Marshall, Capitol-South - 19-3 (10-0)
2. Martin Luther, Metro Classic - 19-3 (14-2)
3. Shoreland Lutheran, Metro Classic - 18-4 (13-3)
4. Lakeside Lutheran, Capitol-North - 15-7 (8-2)
5. Lake Mills, Capitol-North - 16-6 (8-2)
6. Big Foot, Rock Valley - 13-9 (11-7)
7. Whitewater, Rock Valley - 12-10 (10-8)
8. Clinton, Rock Valley - 10-11 (8-10)
9. St. Thomas More, Metro Classic - 5-17 (2-14)
10. Racine St. Cat's, Metro Classic - 2-20 (0-16)
11. Saint Francis, Midwest Classic - 3-15 (0-12)
Lake Mills flew under the radar for awhile, but they have done well recently. If they keep it up, they could even take the 4-seed from conference and across-the-street rival Lakeside Lutheran.

Section 4A:
Laconia at the top seed is very obvious. I don't see any other team coming close to knocking them off. Who gets the 2-seed? I don't know.
1. Laconia, Flyway - 22-0 (12-0)
2. Waupun, East Central - 16-6 (10-4)
3. Berlin, East Central - 17-5 (10-4)
4. Mayville, Flyway - 15-7 (8-4)
5. Watertown Luther Prep, Capitol-North - 12-10 (4-6)
6. Winneconne, East Central - 13-9 (8-6)
7. Lomira, Flyway - 8-14 (4-8)
8. North Fond du Lac, Flyway - 8-14  (2-10)
9. Ripon, East Central - 5-17 (2-12)
10. Columbus, Capitol-North - 3-19 (0-10)
11. Omro, Flyway - 3-19 (0-12)
12. Wautoma, South Central - 0-22 (0-10)
I think Luther Prep is probably the second-best team in this group, but with a 12-10 record, I'm not sure they can argue for a top-four seed. I wouldn't be surprised to see them with the 6-seed either if East Central teams vote for each other.

Section 4B:
KML is better than I gave them credit for. They started the season 0-3 but have only lost one game since. This semifinal is much much weaker compared to the others, and section 4 as a whole isn't that great. I think KML is the only team that could possibly get a top-four seed in sections 1, 2, or 3. The rest of the teams making up this part of the bracket really aren't that great.
1. Kettle Moraine Lutheran, East Central - 17-5 (14-0)
2. Brookfield Academy, Midwest Classic - 13-7 (12-0)
3. Lake Country Lutheran, Midwest Classic - 15-6 (10-2)
4. Brown Deer, Woodland-East - 9-12 (5-7)
5. University School, Midwest Classic - 13-9 (7-5)
6. Dominican, Metro Classic - 8-14 (6-10)
7. School of Languages, Milwaukee City-Gold - 12-10 (4-10)
8. Campbellsport, East Central - 1-21 (1-13)
9. Golda Meir, Milwaukee City-Blue - 13-7 (12-2)
10. Obama SCTE, Milwaukee City-Blue - 10-7 (8-6)
11. Carmen Northwest, Independents - 6-14
12. Saint Anthony, Indian Trails-Blue - 4-5 (1-4)
Even though Golda Meir has a decent record and could maybe finish with a better one, I don't see them getting a seed higher than 8. Even compared to the middle-of-the-road Midwest Classic teams, Golda Meir and Obama SCTE just can't compete. School of Languages definitely seems better than Golda Meir, but again, I just don't see them getting a higher seed than 7 because of non-conference, non-MPS competitiveness. I wouldn't be surprised if Campbellsport moves up a seed or down a couple depending on how other teams vote and argue.

There are so many potentially interesting match-ups that could occur if these seedings are even remotely accurate. I did make a bracket where I guessed which teams will win, upset, etc, but there is just too much to talk about.
Just found out there was a forum section at WSN...
