I noticed that the girls from north have started out the season 2-0. I think the last time they did that was before this decade. Now they are 2-1 after tonight but could anyone that follows girls basketball tell me if they have a shot at ending this losing streak that's currently at 85 this year? I know they brought in a better coach, but were these 2 wins to start out the non-conference a fluke or are they really starting to buy into their new coach? They start the conference season out at home vs kettle moraine on friday. Any chance they end the streak this week or will it have to come later in the season? Or will it be impossible for them to win a game in conference again this season?

I don't see it happening either...

North just isn't talented enough to where they could beat a mediocre team on an off-night at this point, and the C8 this year does not seem to have such a team.

Sorry, but I do not see North winning a conference game this year. In fact I will be surprised if they can stay within 10 points of any team in the C8, which is maybe the best conference in the state this year. The conference is young this year too, so I do not see North winning a game next season either which would make for a C8 winless decade......OUCH!

you would think after all these years they could finally become at least good enough to get a win on an off night by a team. What about the likes of West and Arrowhead? The last 2 wins by North came against Arrowhead and that was in 2002. haha i noticed that arrowhead has started off 1-2 and west lost to waterford, so will those 2 teams still beat north by at least 10 each time they play them?

North has played three really bad teams thus far and lost by double digits to the best of them.

West and AHS are still light years ahead of North as far as team quality goes.

I am in no way backing up north because they have been so bad for years but you would like to see them at least get 1 win this year in conference. If they dont it will be 99 regular season conference losses in a row. That is just terrible. I wonder what the record is??

In girls' basketball, all it takes is a real good player or two to start to turn the tide for a team. There must be somebody walking North's halls who could help them out. It's hard to fathom that a school that big could struggle as much as they have. It wasn't that long ago that Maria Viall played for them after all.

Hopefully, they can get some continuity at the head coach position and the coach can make the tough sell to the girls currently there that no matter how hard the lumps they take will be, that they will stick it out and lay the foundation for future success.

I have heard that they youth program has been turning around. They have a decent 8th grade team and I am told a very good 7th grade team on the girls side right now. Keeping one voice (aka coach) for more than a year might help turn the program around as well. Best of luck to the Northstars.

The only way North wins a C8 game is if Waukesha South loses Allen or Van Horn, their only real players. Rest of the Classic Eight is too deep.
