So they bought out Alltell... does that mean if I have an Alltell phone, and buy a Blackberry from Verizon it will work for me? Sorry if that's a dumb question...

No, it won't work. When/if you are switched over to verizon, they will let you know. Until then you are still an alltel customer.

I understand that, but I read something somewhere about since the Blackberry Curve is an SDMA phone it should be able to be switched from Verizon to Alltel software pretty easily.

Oh...i thought you meant you wanted to get it with a contract through verizon, and switch it over. I would assume if you just want to buy the phone it would probably be cheaper to get it from somewhere else, as verizon will only give you a deal if you sign a contract.

If not just drop Verizon and switch over to U.S Cellular. When they say that they are for the customer they really mean it. And if I remember correctly you can find Blackberry phones in a U.S. Cellular store. If not then Sprint might not be a bad idea if you don't like Verizon's service.

I like U.S. Celular but they don't have National Coverage. DO NOT GET SPRINT! Horrible service around Madison or is it just me?

Not sure about the Madison thing with Sprint (a friend of mine might know even though she never goes to Madison), but actually my family just upgraded to a national plan with U.S. Cellular and at no extra charge.

I've got US Cellular. They've got great service, but really average phones. A lot of their higher level phones, ie: Samsung Delve and the HTC Touch Pro require you to pay an extra 20-25 a month for their primium internet play, which is rather disappointing.
