Turns out that Lawry's has quite the dress code. Unlikely we will be meeting that. In and Out Burger just moved up the list.

If you are looking for a nice meal and not just burgers and such I can give you suggestions. I have dined at most of the places down at that end of the strip.

Avoid the steakhouse in Treasure Island. It's not worth the price. Also, there is a Senor Frogs in TI that is not great. If you are going to a bar in TI and don't hate country music Gilley's Saloon is much better.

One rather important detail I forgot if you have never been to Vegas is open intox is not enforced downtown or on the strip. You can drink your beer or mixer from casino to casino down the street if you choose.

Yah, we would really love to get a nice steak or something along those lines one night. But I would guess for the most part we are going to be dressed pretty casual. A couple of the guys said they are not bringing anything other than shorts.

Not to hijack the thread, but Prime Rib sucks. Give me a nice grilled steak any day over prime rib.

Hugo's Cellar at the 4 Queens is one of my favorites. Amazing restaurant in an otherwise tacky hotel/casino (although you can play tons of craps for pretty cheap there, along with pretty much anywhere on the old strip). Every lady that goes there gets a rose, which is kind of hilarious, and the food is amazing...features more of a steak type of menu. There isn't a dress code per se, but it's a dimly lit place that tends to be a little nicer (and pricey, but definitely worth it).

Probably not your cup of tea based on what it sounds like you're looking for, but definitely a place to keep in mind down the road.

My favorite place to get steak on the strip is LAVO. It's in the Palazzo and has the best filet I have ever had. This is coming from a guy who travels from work nearly every week and eats way too much steak on the road. It's not cheap, but they don't enforce a dress code that I know of. It is a restaurant/club but the club is completely separate from the restaurant so don't let that bother you. http://lavolv.com/index.cfm

There are plenty of other great choices. TI is near most of best that Vegas has to offer.

Went to Vegas a few years ago with my future wife and had a blast. I would definitely LOVE to go back and do it again.

As far as food goes, there are two things I remember:

-The Brunch Buffet at Paris was AWESOME!!! It had just about anything you could think of, including Prime Rib. If I remember right, I think it was $30 a person, but the food was great, and it took care of two meals!!

-My future wife ended up getting food poisoning the last night we were in town after eating at a restaurant in the Luxor. Needless to say it was a LONG flight home for her!!!

I just want to thank everyone for their input. I had an awesome time. John, you were spot on with just about everything. Hash House a Go Go was amazing. One of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten.

The Golden Gate was perfect. We were there for hours on Thursday.

Overall I much prefer Downtown to the strip.

Can't wait to go back in October.
