Milwaukee Riverside is open...

Snippet from JSOnline:

Nelson, however, said his exit was the result of complaints that surfaced after a player suffered a season-ending knee injury during practice while involved in horseplay with a  teammate. Nelson said the injury occurred after he had separated the girls initially.

“They said it was my fault because I took them to half court when I separated them,” Nelson said. “(They said) that was the wrong thing to do and I’m a supervisory role and that if that is the type of stuff I’m doing, they don’t want me in charge, supervising girls at her school in her basketball program.”

Nelson, who felt his release was unjust, learned he’d been let go Thursday by Riverside principal Maria Gonzalez-Edwards.

Stunning news from the Fox Valley Association:

Niki Sutter resigned at Oshkosh West after 12 seasons. She was the school's winningest coach ever with 154 wins in that span.

Not sure if recent struggles over the past 3 seasons played any part in this announcement. (West has won just 9 games total).

She has also been an influential part of the Oshkosh community during her 12 seasons as coach, getting the youth traveling team program started,as well as doing different community service events with her players off the court as well.

Whoever succeeds her will have a tough act to follow.

A little bit late, but my alma mater(Oshkosh West) has named a new head coach.
The school has named Lawrence University assistant coach Kenisha Phillips its new head coach.
She had been an assistant at Lawrence the past 2 seasons after spending a season as an assistant at Xavier HS in Appleton.
She graduated from Spencer HS in central Wisconsin, where she played all 4 years on varsity, then graduated from Carthage College in Kenosha, where she played all 4 seasons in college.
Her only previous head coaching experience consists of numerous jobs with different AAU teams.
Kenisha lives in Appleton and works outside of basketball as an account specialist at The North Face clothing store.
Very happy to welcome Kenisha to "Wildcat Nation" as they call it there!

Kettle Moraine was open AGAIN for 2018 - 2019...Hired Hansen from Pewaukee...what is going on at KMHS? Since Dickert-Sturtz it seems they cannot hang on to a head basketball coach...maybe with Fink gone as AD there will be some stability as it seems he has gone through A LOT of head coaches under his tenure the past 10 years at KMHS!

That's pretty surprising news to me, as it looks like it was to James as well. I know James, he is one heck of a coach and an even better person. I know he was also teaching at Vincent so I wonder what's going to happen on that front as well. Wherever he ends up though, he will be a terrific hire for any program/school.
