Tough situation for UWEC who finished 2nd. Losing their stud sprinter to injury early probably cost them 30 points and first place.

[h]Tough situation for UWEC who finished 2nd. Losing their stud sprinter to injury early probably cost them 30 points and first place[/h].

That explains it .. I was wondering why [h]Thurgood Dennis[/h] didn't place in the 100 & 200 meters and why Eau Claire's relay teams didn't show up. Dennis, a senior from Green Bay Notre Dame, was the defending national champ in the 100 meters and had the fastest preliminary time in the 200 meters. He also anchored the 400 and 1600 meter relay teams which had the fastest & 2nd-fastest qualifying times, respectively, in the prelims. [h]A very tough, disappointing break for Thurgood Dennis & the Blugolds[/h].

Both the [h]Eau Claire men & women finished as runner-ups to national champion Lacrosse[/h].

On the women's side, UWEC's [h]Carly Fehler[/h], a senior from Oak Creek, [h]captured 3 gold medals[/h]. Fehler won the 100 meters and 200 meters, while also being a member of the national champion 400 meter relay team.
