PHILADELPHIA -- Dwayne Jones, not among the 60 players chosen in the NBA draft, decided Thursday to return to Saint Joseph's.
Basketball coach Phil Martelli said the process of reinstating the 6-foot-11 center's eligibility to play in the NCAA would begin immediately. The process is complicated and there was no timetable for its completion.
Jones, fifth in the nation last season in rebounding (11.6) and blocked shots (3.0), had been widely predicted to be a late second-round pick in Tuesday's draft.
Jones earned his bachelor's degree from Saint Joseph's in May, but he redshirted during his first season, leaving him with one year of NCAA eligibility
