I think this sucks for the Univ. of Florida because this is a complete distraction for the Final Four, which if you remember Roy Williams got to the final but still couldnt get it done for Kansas then bolted to UNC. I am not saying Donvon leaving but it still is a major distraction.

Yeah, but that loss had nothing to do with Roy Williams.

One of the most infamous stats from that game will never leave my memory. It was a while back, but Eric Casilias (sp), the guy who hosts the Sports Bash and does that Nascar show now, was talking about that game. That retard said Syracuse won that because of it's stifiling 2-3 zone. Bullshit to the 10th power.

Mr. Casilias seems to forget (or probably never knew) that Kansas missed 18 freaking FT's. The one time I actually e-mailed a radio show, was that time. I threw that stat all up in his face. Made his ass look stupid.

18 FT's, comprehend that! confused by the 2-3 my ass.

They probably were confused by the 2-3 to an extent. Boeheim's 2-3 is nuts, probably one of the best implementors of the zone in college basketball.

Why is this kid so set on following Donovan?

He's not that great of a coach.

I think he is one of the better coaches in college basketball to be honest with you. The numbers show it. He is also an outstanding recruiter.
A Playoff will be much more fair than the BCS.

Why would you leave Florida for Kentucky? If I were Donovan, Florida is the place to be over a place like Kentucky.

Good point but it would be very distracting to me as a player to know my coach might be leaving after whatever our last game may be. It is just something I wouldnt want to deal with it.

Well, I was just looking at the Louisville Scout.com message board, and it seems as though everyone is saying Billy D is indeed taking the Kentucky job.

That and Patrick Patterson better not go to UK or Florida.

Compared to Coach K he's probably not that great. However, he has a national championship, 3 SEC titles, and has won three consec. SEC tournament championships. He has led Florida to nine straight NCAA tournament appearances, and before that, no Florida team had gone more than 3 times in a row. This season he became Florida's all time winningest coach. He has had nine consec. seasons of 20 wins or more with Florida and has led them to 3 final fours. He is just 41 years old. The credentials are there, so he must be doing SOMETHING right.

This makes total sense. He won a championship so now he wants his money. Look at Domnic Rhodes signing with the Raiders-same principle applies there too.

Donovan is a great in recruiting and that was the same area that Tubby Smith didn't do so well considering some of the best basketball players in Kentucky committed to other schools outside the state or Louisville.

As for the issue involving Roy Williams not winning a national title at Kansas, Williams was a North Carolina alum and when the job at North Carolina opened up a few years ago, there were several notable alums who had played for Dean Smith. The only one that I can think of off the top of my head is former Bucks coach George Karl was mentioned besides Roy Williams as a replacement. When Williams took the job, don't think for a single minute that the hiring went unnoticed.
