exactly...spend money elsewhere...any starter who struggles could be a reformed into a fantastic closer...hell most starters who struggle usually end up flourshing in that role...spend the money elsewhere...

And here I remember back in the summer we had a discussion over who you would want to be your closer and you wanted Torres because of his ability to "pitch to contact."

Change of heart all of a sudden????

What you may not understand is that Brewers fans are always scared whenever their closer is on the mound...the Brewers could have Trevor Hoffman as their closer and they'd still be on pins and needles...[:-]

McClung's breaking stuff is legit. He has a big bender. Plus his fastball has movement and speed, and his changeup is decent. He has the mindset for the job. Why not give him a shot? Plus he's like 6'7" and red-headed. Like it was stated before: Nuff Said.

He could do no worse than anyone else on that staff. And why waste Villy. He could play a huge roll in next year's rotation, assuming we resign no one and grab 0 worthwhile free agents. Gallardo, PArra, Bush, Soup, Villy. It ain't killer, but it will do.

i would love to see capuano return to his all-star form or even close to it. he could be a viable 4/5 starter for the brewers this year if he returns healthy. he really wasnt healthy the last couple of years when his down turn came. if came back to close to his all-star form the brewers would be okay with yovani, parra, bush, capuano, and either suppan or someone they sign/acquire via trade.

watcha thinking about that
