The early guess for next year has: USC, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, LSU, and Ohio State. Mark Schlabach said this earlier today, with the rankings of these five teams based on who leaves early for the draft. (Gonzalez and Jarret big here).

Although, expect Louisville to be up there, especially if both Brohm and Bush return, which is the rumor going around now.

My Heismen watch for next year.
1) McFadden
2) Russel
3) Slaton
4) Brohm
5) White
6) Booty
7) Bush
8) Hill
9) Manningham

I'm thinking one of these nine will take it. It all will come down to which team is ranked #1 at the end of the regular season. If it is West Virginia, expect Slaton or White to be high up there. Louisville, expect Brohm or Bush to be high on the list. USC, expect Booty (perhaps Washington if he is healthy) to be high on the list, or Russel if LSU is #1. Realisitcly, McFadden would seem to be in the best spot, however I doubt that he will be able to do as good next year as he did this year. The main reason being Arkansas will have a decent passing game, which means he just won't be getting the touches or the passes. Hill has an outside shot, but he is still young and he'll shine in two thousand nine.
The Brewers will finish 90-72 and earn the #1 WC berth.

Carlos Gomez will have a 30/40 season (HR/SB) and win a 2nd Gold Glove en route to an All Star selection.

I would not be surprised one bit to see Carroll leave for the Cardinals after that UCLA loss. If they win the Rose Bowl, I think he'll be back, if they lose it, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go back to the NFL.
I may be wrong, but I doubt it "I do have one question: Have you ever seen Gollum, John Clayton and Sam Cassell in the same place before?" - Charles Barkley
