Last night at the WWE pay-per-view event Night of Champions, wrestling fans likely saw the last match in the career of 56 year old icon Sting. There was a spot towards the end of the match where WWE Champion Seth Rollins ran across the ring with Sting and powerbombed him into the turnbuckles in the corner. The impact of the bump resulted in a significant whiplash, and Sting immediately slumped to the mat. Rollins tried to continue on with the match, not knowing Sting was legitimately injured, and whipped him into the ropes. Sting hit the ropes and immediately slumped down to the canvas again. This resulted in the match being delayed for several minutes while WWE personnel came out to check on Sting's condition, and the match was wrapped up shortly thereafter. Details on the extent of his injury aren't known at this time, the WWE is just saying that he suffered a "significant neck injury".

Yeah, you could tell something was off.

Probably for the best though, as Sting can't really wrestle anywhere close to his prime anymore.

This needs to raise some serious red flags within the WWE about Rollins' recklessness in the ring. I don't believe these guys in their 50's like Sting should still be wrestling to begin with, but this is at least the third time Rollins has seriously f'ed up and hurt somebody. Just a couple of months ago, he smeared John Cena's nose halfway across his face with a botched kneelift and back when he was in WWE developmental, he botched a 450 splash and landed on his opponent's head.

Reigns is definitely the favorite in my opinion. I'm not as harsh on Reigns as a lot of the hardcore fans are. He's definitely improved since the beginning of the year. What I think needs to happen is he needs to be the bad a** heel. The whole face thing just doesn't work for him in my opinion, yet at least. Have Reigns win the title and be the bad guy, and have Ambrose chase.

I don't know. Everyone's waiting for Ambrose to turn heel, why not keep Ambrose face?

Sidenote, I'm calling Owens wins the title & sides with Triple H & Stephanie.

Well, no one will have to worry about Rollins' recklessness for awhile as he tore up his knee at a WWE show in Dublin will be sidelined up to 9 months.

This sets up a tournament for the now-vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series...reminiscent of the Deadly Games tourney where The Rock won his first WWE Championship back at SS '98.

Saw the spot on YouTube, pretty impressive that Rollins not only finished the match, but was able to powerbomb the 330 pound Kane with a torn ACL, MCL, PCL, and meniscus in one knee.

WWE's ratings are at the lowest point they've been since Diesel was champion...and they decide to put the belt on Sheamus? This company continues to plummet due to their own incompetence and lack of sensible direction.

Russo booking...swerve!

The whole Money In The Bank thing is pointless if it always gets cashed in with the same result.

Better booking would have seen Sheamus cash in only for Reigns to destroy him and actually get over as a legit monster.

I agree, the whole MITB thing has gotten pointless and predictable in so many ways.

I remember back in 1996 people thought the WWE was in trouble when Shawn Michaels was carrying a roster of unknowns and jobbers to Monday night ratings in the low 3's while going up against WCW when the NWO first broke out.

The ratings he was drawing then were still almost a full point higher than what RAW has been drawing on a weekly basis for the past year or so, and that's with no other promotion opposing them on Monday night's. That's just downright bad.
