I would like some input on this topic. I'm a parent of a child in the Trails Way South. We keep good stats and show everything from points to assist, rebounds and shots made and shots attempted. I would like to know why Dodgeland doesn't show the shot selection of their team. Last year they had a Junior shoot 25 to 30 times a game and maybe made 6 to 8 shots. So we see this year the girl is averaging 20pts 13 rebounds. I would be interested in knowing how many shots she is attempting each game for comparison for MVP voting at the end of the year in the conference.

I have to ask a question because you put this out on a statewide board. Who is the WE in "we keep good stats" ? Is it an asst coach, a JV player, or a parent ? Statewide, one would find different situations and different stats being kept. A coach will have stats collected as he sees fit and for his needs. I might be misreading the intent of your post but it kind of comes across as directed at Dodgeland and why don't they keep or report attempts. Perhaps they keep more stats but do not report them to the media or WSN ? Perhaps you are not aware that alot of stats are harvested from the media.
Are you that worried about conf MVP for a season that just started ? Enjoy the ride and season and things work out in the end.

The Trailways Conference is one of several in the state that use WSN for their official stats and standings source, requiring coaches to enter information. Which information is entered is up to the conference to decide. I'm not sure what they require. It may be they don't require attempts, just points, assists, and rebounds, I'm not sure. If they do require full stats including attempts, then it is something your coach should bring to the attention of your AD to address with the conference commissioner.
The Packers/Badgers/Brewers are like your children; you don't love them because they're good, you love them because they're yours.
