With Jurickson Profar out for 3 months, the Texas Rangers had scouts at yesterdays spring training game looking at Rickie Weeks. They also had scouts looking at Darwin Barney yesterday as well and every other second basemen who isn't going to make a major league roster. Maybe Prince could kick in some money to make the reunion happen since there is no way Texas is going to take on the entire 11 million dollar contract.

They also picked up Donnie Murphy today, so don't think this will come to fruition.

It is being reported in Tejas that the Rangers want Weeks.
(a friend in OK tells me it's done, probably listens to their version of Bill Michaels[afro] )
If he bounces back.....good, if not he is gone when Profar returns.

In all honesty, Weeks reunited with Fielder (his big brother) would be a win-win-win!!!!

Pick up a young IF or 1B, makes sense for everyone.

Hank the DOG has a bobblehead day. This organization is taking a crap on itself. It's one thing to support a great cause such as the Humane Society, which there are a ton of ways to do that like portions of ticket sales, etc, but to have a fricking bobblehead of a stray dog that wandered into MAryvale? I think they have finally gone crazy there. Seriously. Again, Humane Society, wonderful cause, Hank the dog, I have had enough.

It is tiring, but from a PR standpoint, it's been huge for an organization that needed it badly. So I tolerate it.

I have two tickets to the Sunday April 13th game against Pittsburgh. Section 122. I don't want to go. I mean I do, but I don't want to drive there at this point. Any takers? Great seats actually if you think about it. These are RIGHT behind the Pirates dugout. Kinda awesome. You'd have to be my friend for life. Email me. steve(at)brechlerinsurance.com

I'll probably be at the game as it is. I go to almost every Sunday home game because my aunt gets 2 free tickets through the VA. But those are awesome seats anyhow.

Honestly, I really couldn't care less about who/what they use for their Bobblehead promotions. Hell, I went to a game with a Beanie Baby promotion at County Stadium (now that was a spectacle) back in 1997.

I just stopped paying attention to it. It'll fade to the background once meaningful games begin anyway as Wisconsin sports fans do what they do best....focus solely on the negative.

I focused on the positive for a while on this story, as in bringing attention to the Humane Society angle and supporting a great cause. But now it just seems like they are shoving it down our throats a bit. Hard to ignore it when I follow so many people on Twitter related to the Brewers that it gets tweeted 10 times every time. That makes it rough.

I agree. Bring on baseball already.

DB, me and Erik went to an opener once, the organization gave away souveneir baseballs!

I can't imagine a more ill concieved poorly thought out idea.

Our guess was related to the 80/20 rule.
80% of the baseballs ended up on the field!!![afro]
Who'd of ever thunk it??

Beer, baseballs, opening day, great combo, marketing genius!!![]

Haven't seen that on opening day since!!!

I was at a game that was called because people were banging the seat cushions that were given away together and then throwing pieces of them on the field. I want to say it was against the White Sox. However, I am not certain of that. We still have one of those seat cushions.

I hope they don't bang those little dogs together, that could be a tragedy of epic proportions!!![]

Can't you just see those little dog heads and tails all over the playing surface?????[]

I actually ended up with one of those Opening Day baseballs after they picked them up from the field and donated them to various organizations.
