I'm so psyched for this season to start! What better way to open up the season in one of the top football conferences in the state if not the top football conference in the state with the #1 ranked team in the state going up against a very hungry team from Stevens Point. SPASH has not beat Everest in a few years now and Everest has spoiled their play offs a few seasons now also. I see D.C.E winning this one but expect it to be a lot closer than expected. SPASH has a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. Mitch Sutton who is extremely athletic is taking over at half back and though some people expect him to fall flat on his face, he's running behind one of the top fullbacks in the state, Dan Kinsella. There defense led by senior linebacker Brandon Stremkowski should also be tough, but DC Everest led by Mike Sierkowski at QB along with a great line on both sides of the ball and of course an unbelievably coached team WILL win this football game and start this season on a bang on that new field turf!

I agree, from what I saw at the scrimmage today, it will or should be anyway a very close game. Took a look at the turf, and took some pictures of it. They are sewing the logos in now and it looks like it will be ready for next Friday. DCE has a new look offense, Sierakowski did not take one snap from under center. I think people do not realize how much they lost in their o and d lines. Mitch Sutton looked good. Stemkowski was the best defensive player at the scrimmage, but got hurt slightly against Stratford. It might shock you to hear that I think Stratford was probably the best team there. Although they weren't given the chance to prove it because DCE played their JV against them. Stratford manhandled the DCE JV.

In a real game though Stratford probably would wear down as their stars have to play both ways. They are very good, and in my mind a lock for another D6 title.

Menomonie outplayed DCE, but each scored once, DCE being helped by a couple of defensive penalties on the Indians.

Thanks for sharing these comments. That's very interesting to hear about Stratford. I can't wait for the first game to start!

Yes I was also at the scrimmage today. It's so hard to tell who the BEST team is because teams are there to work on things and see different people playing different spots. A player who really impressed me from Stratford was Billy Niggeman. I was also very impressed with how quick D.C. Everest is learning this spread offense. Sierakowski is going to have a huge year with this style offense and they have some really good recievers also. Another surprise player that impressed me from Everest was junior Mitch Goertz.
