Gannett Newspapers is reporting today (6-24-09) that Stevens Point Area High School (SPASH) has hired Scott Anderson as its new boys head basketball coach. Anderson replaces Dan Fink whose contract was not renewed at the end of this past season after the Panthers went 1-20. Fink went 19-3 in '07-08, winning the Wisconsin Valley Conference title. Fink had a 88-105 in 9 seasons at the helm. Scott Anderson is the son of retired Auburndale coaching legend, Tim Anderson whose teams played in the state tournament 8 times, winning D-3 championships in 1993 & 2000.

Scott Anderson most recently ('05-'09) was an assistant to head coach, Bob Semling at UW-Stevens Point. Previous to that, Anderson was the head coach at Neenah where he went 75-59 in 6 seasons. Prior to his stint at Neenah, Anderson coached at GreenBay West ('94-'99). In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Scott Anderson will also teach Phy. Ed. at SPASH.
