By Tom Haudricourt Wednesday, Oct 22 2008, 08:46 PM
St. Petersburg, Fla. - As it turns out, Dale Sveum isn't out with the Brewers just yet.
I learned tonight that the candidates being interviewed for the managerial opening - Ken Macha, Willie Randolph and, tomorrow, Bob Brenly - are being encouraged to bring Sveum back for one of the three coaching openings. Those openings are bench coach, third base coach and hitting coach.
Melvin really likes Sveum and even though he was passed over for the opening after serving as interim manager for the final few weeks, Sveum has reconsidered and is open to coming back as a coach. In the emotion last week of being passed over, Sveum thought it would be awkward to return as a coach after being the interim manager.
But, after thinking it over, Sveum said he "made too much" of the interim position and realized it was only a temporary situation. He would love to be the Brewers manager, but short of that, really likes the organization and would be open to a coaching position.
So, don't be surprised if the new manager has Sveum on his staff next season.
Pitching coach Mike Maddux, bullpen coach Bill Castro and first base coach Ed Sedar have been invited back and are expected to return.

I just saw on the bottom line the Brewers will be interviewing former Arizona Diamondback's head coach Bob Brenly.

According to posters at Brewerfan.net, Tom Haudricout said on the radio this morning that he expects Macha to be announced as the manager in a few days, and that he also thinks Sveum coming back as the bench coach or third base coach is almost a done deal.

Bad News; Good News in that order.

I dont know if i will like Macha. I have been leaning towards wanting Brenly. Hopefully Melvin knows whats best tho.

For some reason I want Willie Randolph to be the man.
A Playoff will be much more fair than the BCS.
No matter what happens, Rodgers GREATER THAN Favre.

Macha proved over and over again that he could win with young guys .

Best part of having him is we may here a few f bombs being dropped .

After watching Randolph the past few years (I'm live in New York), I do not want to see Willie Randolph anywhere near the Brewers. He is absolutely brutal in-game, primarily with bullpen decisions. For people who thought Yost was bad, just try imagining somebody twice as bad as Yost.
