Hey. I am a baseball player who wants to learn how to serve. I can hit it decently hard, but I can't get it in the serving area, or I can hit it soft and make it land there, but then it's easy for the opponent to return it. Any ideas on how to make it better?

Toss it higher and put the ball out in front of your body a little more therefore your hitting agle
will project more downward

i like to compare it to a volleyball serve, where if you just hit it hard enough in a little downward motion, the ball will get some natural lift and then fall... i know that doesn't make a lot of sense, ha, i apologize

work on a topspin serve first. there's a host of videos on youtube teaching you to hit a "kick" or "american twist" serve. after you have that motion down (it will take a lot of hits, but it's worth it), then you can start hitting a harder, flatter serve.
That is your wife?

What a lovely throat!
