This is going to be an interesting series.  The Twins just mash and when they pitch, they are tough.  I am curious to see how Burnes responds tomorrow night and if he can show the same stuff he does when he comes out of the bullpen.  My fear is that he comes out and goes 2+ and gives up 5-6 runs and gets hit around.  His stuff is so good, I am not sure why it doesn't translate to starting games.

Devin Williams has been impressive.  CC showed some confidence in him in Chicago and I love he keeps guy off balance.  95 coming out of his hand with the little cut is tough.  And then he drops that 84 breaker and guys are way out in front.  Phelps has been solid too and has set the table for Hader.  Williams, Phelps, and Hader make for a good back end.

I'm thinking Urias was pretty disappointed to have a day off right now.

The entire BP looks pretty good to me.

How long before Sutter gets a start?

Like I said in the other thread, the baseball seems to be getting better.

Avi is the real deal.

Brewers lose 4-3 in 12.

Kenta Maeda took a no-hitter (and a 3-0 lead) into the ninth and the Brewers managed to tie it.

Both teams were nothing short of pathetic in extra innings (you literally start with a guy on second), but the Twins eventually won behind Jedd Gyorko's awful baserunning fundamentals, er, a squibber from Jorge Polanco.

Bad baseball is back, and I've never felt so alive.

Brewers take the middle game, 9-3, behind six strong innings from Brett Anderson, and a hat trick of two-run home runs from the outfield (Braun, Yelich, Garcia). Garcia also had a two-run single in the third and Keston Hiura added a home run off Twins 3B Ehire Adrianza in the ninth. Braun, Yelich, Hiura and Garcia all with multi-hit games. Drew Rasmussen made his MLB debut and pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

One downside is the continued struggles with velocity and command from Corey Knebel (2/3 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 BB), who could not get through the ninth as Alex Claudio had to be summoned to record the final out.

Corey Knebel goes on the injured list today with a strained hamstring.  It's an unfortunate setback for him and this may be the last time he has pitched for the Brewers.  His velocity has been fine but his command his been really off.  Coming off the Tommy John surgery that was to be expected especially with a two year layoff.  Without a minor league season to pitch on a  rehab assignment, it's really hard to get yourself right in the majors.  He is set to earn 5 million next year and there is no way the Brewers tender him a contract for that amount.

Brewers drop the finale, 7-1, as they could never find their footing against Jose Berrios, and the Twins would eventually cash in late after threatening from the fourth inning on in the game to put it out of reach.
