The Brewers travel to Houston for a quick 2-game interleague set starting Tuesday.

Game 1: Freddy Peralta (3-2, 5.11) vs. Brad Peacock (5-3, 3.20)
Game 2: TBD vs. Justin Verlander (9-2, 2.31)

This will be an interesting series to see how the Brewers stack up against one of the best teams.  Seeing Verlander tomorrow night will be a huge challenge.  Tonight's game scares me with Peralta on the mound.  The Astros lineup is so good, he is going to have to have his best stuff of the season.  It will be nice to be able to use a DH.

Some decisions coming up with Chacin and Gonzalez in the next week or so. Peralta's start tonight will be big for his future in the rotation.  And even if he does have a good one, not sure he stays in the rotation.

Despite the Brewers being more worried about saving money in the future instead of winning now, they come into this series with a 1/2 game lead over the Cubs.

I agree with you that it will be interesting to see how Peralta does tonight. Have the Astros seen him before? If not, that bodes well for Fastball Freddy.

I don't think they have, so that is an advantage.  That lineup though is just so darn good even with the guys they have out.  Tonight is probably Freddie's last start.  I would guess Chacin will be ready when this spot comes back up in the rotation.  And Gio isn't too far back.  That probably doesn't bode well for Jimmy Nelson.  With Anderson throwing it pretty well, I don't see CC sending him to the bullpen.

Plenty of fireworks in Game 1, but the Brewers fall, 10-8.

I think that was the last we will see of Fastball Freddie in the rotation for the time being.  Chacin will probably take that start when it comes around again.  It just seems like Freddie may be better suited for the bullpen with only really having 2 pitches.  Tonights game with Woodruff vs. Verlander could be a pitchers dual.  I don't see the Brewers hitting Verlander hard.  With the way Woody is going, if the Crew could scratch out 3, that would be something.

They scratched out three solo HRs off Verlander to offset 15 swinging Ks (a creer-high for him) and got another good outing from Woodruff.

The game would eventually go 14 innings with Adrian Houser pitching the final two in relief and getting the W after a monster 2-R HR from Moose and an RBI single from Aguilar in the top of the 14th.
