Simply put, an outstanding 8-inning pitching performance on Sunday (5/26) by Brandon Woodruff (7-1).  Woodie was perfect thru 5 innings, gave up a solo HR to begin the 6th and then retired the final 9 batters he faced. All in all, Woodruff allowed 1 hit, 1 run, 0 BB's and struck out 10, including the final batter he faced in each of the 8 innings he pitched.  He retired 24 of the 25 hitters he faced.  Other than the HR, Philly did not have a baserunner the entire day.  And, as if that wasn't enough, Woodie also had 2 hits, including a double, driving in 2 runs.

Woodruff lowered his E.R.A to 3.22 and raised his batting average to .370 (10 of 27).

Matt Albers pitched a perfect 9th, with 2 K's, to put the Phillies out of their misery.

Brewers win, 9-1, as Grandal, Perez, Yelich and Gamel (twice) went deep.

Not sure why Woodruff wasn't allowed to finish the CG though... - Follow me. Because we all need a bit of sports snark in our lives.
