I love baseball.
More than you can imagine.
I started playing the "game" at 6 years old.

In the Khoury League in St Louis.
I used to visit with and encourage a young man, who posts here often, in the OF (I was in the bleachers I set up)

He can tell you of my love for the "game."

It was America's past time.
An escape from the rigors and challenges of our everyday grinds of life.
Baseball was the 1 topic my grandpa, dad and I could always talk (communicate) about.
My early memories of baseball and my dad were of him buying me a spoon malt and watching Stan Musial & Ken Boyer.
I watched a Cardinals game and gave my Dad a spoon malt his last day on earth.
He gave me the love for the "game."
We played hundreds of "games" in my backyard.
It was where dreams began.
I coached several teams at several levels.
I tried to give each player the LOVE for the "game."
We talked about that LOVE often!

I can SOOOO relate to all of this with my dad RK, but just a generation or so later!

I enjoyed reading this!
"Let's Play Two!!!"

Baseball is not a game that builds character, it is a game that reveals it.

"There are three types of baseball players: those who make things happen, those who watch it happen, and those who wonder what happened."

2003 doesn't seem as long ago as it was. 😧
