Is the cutoff for d4-5 no longer 200?

Supposedly the smallest 128 schools....but there are two byes in D5...was wondering why?

One bye could be possibly due to the fact that Blair-Taylor is one of the smallest 128 schools, but they were in the championship game last year so they must compete in D4????

That could be. The WIAA will not move a different team down in that instance.

Part of that is coaches not knowing and/or caring about their entire regional. He voted along conference lines and a couple schools didn't get what they deserved.

THX! psat...This is a problem. Just check sectional 4 in D3 Sectional 4 Brown Deer(Ranked 4th) & KML(ranked 1st) in the same regional!! and D4 sectional 3...Pardeeville a 1 seed?(UNDER .500)REALLY...?? HOW? Same sectional...Darlington(#7) and Mineral Point(#2) are in the same regional? All I ask is that a committee be set up to avoid this kind of thing. And before you repost...take some time to think about the kids who lay it on the line everyday to give their team the best shot to get to state...WIAA should show some effort here.

Have fun trying to convince fans and administrators that Brown Deer should be moved to a regional with teams from far southwest Wisconsin.

Others receiving votes:

Bold teams are in the same Regional

Seems as easy enough to me to slide Brown Deer down and switch it with one of the other Milwaukee schools, at least then KML and BD could possibly meet at a Sectional Semi, or am I missing something?

Why would BD need to go to SW WI?

While I agree DB, that seeding AT LEAST the half-sectional should be mandatory in D1 and D2...even then it wouldn't change much in this situation since there are just so few teams.

In theory, here are your four regional final teams (saying seeds hold) in the current set up.

Seymour vs. Pulaski
Kaukauna vs. Ashwaubenon

If you seeded the entire 10-team half-sectional, the match-ups would be tweaked a bit, but the teams for the most part stay the same.

Kaukauna vs. West De Pere
Seymour vs. Ashwaubenon

And in both situations, the same sectional semifinal would occur of Kaukauna vs. Seymour.

The only team it truly benefits are West De Pere - which would go from playing at Ashwaubenon to hosting Luxemburg-Casco, giving it a much better shot at advancing to the regional final.

For Lux-Casco, it would set up a better regional semi game between West De Pere instead of its current possible match-up against Kaukauna, but it would still be on the road and still an underdog.

Seed Team Conf rec. OA record
1 Howards Grove 14-1 17-4

2 Ozaukee 13-2 17-4

3 Lake Cty. Luth 10-4 13-7

4 Horicon 14-2 15-5

5 Random Lake 6-10 7-13

6 Dodgeland 5-11 7-13

Guess which conference has 3 teams in the regional!!
What happen to seeding by record?

This happens in a lot of seeding meetings where one conference is heavily represented against teams that are from another conference or not in a conference. One would have to be in these meetings to see it all break down when it comes to ties and challenges to see the actual votes.

Yeah, but his argument (seeding on record) only has legs regarding Lake Country Lutheran vs. Horicon's seeding....and LCL isn't in the CLC.

LCL, however, did defeat Ozaukee, 51-43, the Monday before the seeding meeting.

I really like Horicon's team this year, but I hope they are over being slighted at the seed meeting. One only needs to look back to last season when Hustisford (12-4, 4th in the Trailways-South) lost to Kohler (3-13, last in the Central Lakeshore) to find a cautionary tale. Prepare for the Random Lake game in front of you, not the seed meeting last week.

Oh? So Horicon was actually over-seeded themselves? Who knew? The coaches actually were on to something, it appears.

Guessing glc566413 won't poke his head around here though.
