From what I've learned over the past few years...Brookwood was one of the last schools to start a girls basketabll program...maybe not even until the early 90s. Cashton started around 85/86ish I think.

NL may have had theirs as early as the 70's. I seem to recall seeing a pic of one of their 70's teams in the trophy case.
I will not apologize for being awesome.

Hm. Very progressive then. I think it'd be interesting to find out when some of these schools DID start things...and find out when other things went out ofstyle, ie golf, which several SBC schools have had at one point or another.

About the only one I ever had time to trace back to its beginnings was New Lisbon Football, which was started in 1902, with some evidence that Royall started earlier than that even.
I will not apologize for being awesome.

Well, technically it would have been just Elroy then (Royall-Elroy + Kendall started in 61ish? and Wilton came over in fall of 1963)...but in any case very interesting.
Bangor actually has a pretty cool thing in one of the gym entrances that has a team photo, roster and results of every boys basketball team from 1918 or a bit earlier until 2003 (yeah, it needs to be updated). I'd like to see something like that for the girls done there as well...well, every team...but it's a great heritage piece.
LaX Logan does have something like that with all sports/team photos/results I noticed a few weeks back when I was there. They went back pretty far, too.

There were girls teams for the 1980 season, not sure how far back most of the girls teams go though.
I will not apologize for being awesome.
