id be a lot more upset about this had the cards not won the WS....i'm betting Albert is glad to have the WS Ring this year instead of the MVP.

I dont like Pujols either. However, Cards with Pujols = WS ring. Cards without Pujols = no playoffs.

Pujols is the MVP.
Still livin' by the three

If you want to go there....

Phillies with Howard = somewhat playoff contention
Phillies without Howard = Phillies win 50-60 games. Tops.

Ryan Howard = MVP

Derek Jeter = MVP

The voters only really looked at 2 categories - HR and RBI...otherwise Pujols lead Howard in every other category. Crazy stat - Howard had a 131 more strike outs than Pujols, 181-50. I don't care who you are, that's a crazy difference.

Basically though its this - BOTH players had great seasons and either one could been classified as a MVP. The voters went with Howard. Could have easily gone the other way to Pujols. Again I bet Albert is glad to have what Howard doesn't have - a World Series Championship.

Howard had a great year but Pujols deserved the MVP.

Pujols had better numbers in all but two offensive catagories. He also batted .397 to Howard's .256 with runners in scoring position. He hit .435 to Howard's .237 with two outs and RISP.

You put Pujols on the Philly team this year and they make the playoffs. You can't tell me with the clutch hitting he does and his great fielding the Philly's would not have won 5 more games this year.

You replace Pujols with Howard on the Cardinals and the Cardinals don't make the playoffs, don't with the National League Pennant and don't win the World Championship.

What I think is AMAZING is the two MVP's this year made less than a million dollars combined!

I had no idea, but Howard is older than Pujols. I think you can't go wrong with either one, but Pujols is the man.
Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms.
