Local scuttlebutt is that White Lake/Elcho--who began the season with only about 20 total players, only five of whom were upperclassmen--has been forced to forfeit their final game due to attrition. They just no longer have enough bodies to play the scheduled game game versus Northern Elite on Thursday.

Such a shame that they were able to make it this far and not finish. Aren't there WIAA penalties for cancelling a scheduled game?

PS--I have not heard about this forfeit from a school official--since I was away from school at a conference today. But I heard it from a few different usually reliable folks.
