that is actually better than him betting on his team 4 nights a week. they should put him in the hall for sure now.

honestly who wouldn't want their manager putting money on your team to win every night? this pretty much makes him the best manager in the history of the majors.

This reminds me of a gambling idea I have, betting a thousand dollars every game on a team that you know is going to win a lot of games that year (like the Yankees) who were 32 games over .500 last year. Think it would work?

you would make a little bit of money but the return on bet on the yankees isn't that great. you could probably make more money picking your spots and betting on a team like the royals or devil rays.

4,000 + hits...thats what matters. the way he played is why he should be in the HOF. people make mistakes...there are many instances where people have broken the rules and still made it to the HOF. its rediculous either way

I agree, but the same people that don't think Rose should be in the Hall of Fame and think Bonds should are being hypocritical. They say that Bonds would've gotten in the Hall even if he hadn't juiced. Rose would've gotten in even if he didn't bet on baseball and his betting had nothing to do with how he played in his career. You have to hold people to the same standards and either let them both in, but put on their plaque that they did something wrong, or else banish both of them.

if bonds did juice, there is a fundelmental flaw in your arguement. that flaw is, it doesn't make sense.

He was on the Dan Patrick Show and Dan and Keith Olbermann asked about him better 4 times a week and he corrected them. He really didn't go out of his way to announce that.

Besides, if anything, this makes him more likeable. By betting every game it means not only did he have a crazybad addiction, but that he believed in his team. I would rather have a coach bet on our team every game than pick and choose when the money and lineups were in his convience.

Rose deserves to be in the HOF. He deserves to never manage again, and he deserves a partial banishment with lifetime probation. He does not deserve a lifetime banishment. Only those who intentionally throw a game deserve to be banned for life.

I doubt he bet on his team every night.

Pete Rose will say anything that he thinks will create a sympathy vote for him. His one goal in life now is to be in the Hall Of Fame, which I think he should be. He was way too good of a player to simply not have him in there. The purpose of the HOF is to remember all the great players to have played the game, and I think that some of the younger players who didn't get a chance to see him play probably don't realize that he was a damn good ball player. Younger people will only know Pete Rose as a gambler in baseball.

I just want to know why he didn?t come clean about betting on baseball earlier. Does anyone else think it might have affected his MLB status? Instead he's been lying about it forever. I hope baseball takes him off the banned list and lets him in, but NEVER manage in the majors again. Let him be that ambassador of the game.
I'M BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!
