He would be a Hall of Famer. People forget, on those Dolphins teams, he was the Offense. Ahman Green had Brett Favre at QB. For the Dolphins, it was just Ricky.

He also survived back-to-back 380+ carry seasons. Many RBs can rarely survive a single one. If he had played without being busted for pot, my guess is he would have been a HoFer. Or at least close. Kind of like Edgerrin James.

I was going to bring up the Edgerrin James comparison, too. The two are inextricably linked because the Colts shocked the league by taking James over Williams. Since then, the Colts were proven to have made the right choice.

You say Williams survived two 380 carry seasons back to back, which is technically true, but he retired from the league the next summer and didn't play that whole next year. His first 380 yard carry season, he averaged 4.8 ypc. His 2nd that dropped to 3.5. That third year he would have been coming off consecutive 380 carry years running for a terrible team (finished 4-12). It would have been a miracle to match his 3.5 average and stay healthy that year.

I think he would have broken down and ended up with lesser career stats compared to James regardless of the suspensions. He's 5,000 total yards and 25 career tds behind James, I don't buy that he would have made up the difference in those numbers in two seasons at age 27 coming off those 380 carry seasons and age 29, probably approaching 2,000 career carries already.

And since James is, IMHO, a borderline HOF guy as it is, and I think Williams would have done less on inferior teams, I don't think he would have been a HOF player, with or without the drug issues.
Ricky Rubio will be a Pamela Anderson sized bust.

The man has played probably almost half of his career being suspended in the NFL and having to play in the CFL or some other pro football league. How that would qualify him for the NFL Hall of Fame I have no idea.

It is the Professional football hall of fame, not the NFL hall of fame. Time spent in the CFL counts too, see Warren Moon.

Okay, my apologies. But even still knowing that the NFL is a bigger league than the CFL would that not factor in to him making the PRO FOOTBALL Hall of Fame? Unless he was to come out redonkulous like Warren Moon did, I still do not see him being a Hall of Famer unless he really rolled defenders in the CFL and makes good on the playing time he's getting behind Ronnie Brown. I think had Ricky Williams kept his nose clean and had no drug suspensions he would have a much more solid shot at the Hall of Fame.

Let me reiterate, it was hypothetical.
