Southern Door @ Valders - SD seems to have more momentum heading into this game. The game will feature a matchup of 2 of the top 10 scorers in the state in D2. Derik Hawkey (#2 in D2, #9 overall) and Robert Linzmeier (#6, #27) will obviously be the keys to the game. Binversie and Blizel will have to step up for their respective teams. Valders is a tough place to play, though. My prediction: Southern Door 58, Valders 52

Mark me down for Southern Door in a blowout.

Valders did give Manitowoc Roncalli (21-1) their only loss this season, and that was without Linzmeier. It seems as if they are a more balanced team with other individuals stepping up in his absence.

Someone told me about this post and after reading it, I feel I need to respond. I'm going to say right off that I'm from Valders. I'm not going to make a prediciton about the game because I think it's going to be really close and honestly, I'm pretty nervous. I can see why you would change your prediction so much after finding out about Linzmeier, because trust me, a lot of Valders people had concerns after he got hurt too. However, Valders has shown that they can play without him. Linzmeier has been out for a bit more than half the season and Valders still finished 2nd in conference, with their most notable win coming Feb 2 at Roncalli. Now it could very well be a blowout tomorrow, I really hope not but it could be but if it is, it's not going to be because Valders was without Linzmeier.

Also, you can't really compare teams based on how they did against common opponents. Someone used the SB example. You could also look at Wrightstown, Southern Door just killed them and Valders lost to them by 3 in the last game of the season. Does that mean Southern Door is going to kill Valders? Not necessarily, just like Valders won't win just because they beat SB by more points than what Southern Door did. Every night is a new game and whatever happened in the past doesn't matter anymore.

Southern Door: 60
Valders: 48

Kind of a shoot out of D's in the first half but Southern Door will likely run away with it.

I dont know about a blowout, Valders beat SB by 40 and SD won by like 17 so I have to give the edge to Valders even without Linzmeir.

Sturgeon bay is a weak team but regardless both teams beat them by sufficient margins. Valders has been playing much better as a team without linzmeir but southern door has unbelievable momentum right now. I am going to go with Southern Door! The Person that does rankings for this site, mark miller is also going with southern door over valders at Manitowac

Oh I can believe I was there last year and watched them do it, but Southern Door can score as "unbelievably" as they proved with the 60-30 win over wrightstown with the subs playing nearly 3 minutes

Yes he tore his MCL, ACL, and meniscus in a game in the first half of the season against St Mary Central. Valders had one more game after that before the second half of the season started (so Wrightstown never got to play against him this year). He had surgery last week I think and has about 6-9 months of recovery/rehab. He got his 1000th point before he got hurt but was on his way to breaking the Valders' school record for all-time leading scorer when he went down.
