Potosi @ BCC
Pec/Argyle @ Racine Lutheran
Benton/Scales Mound @ Shullsburg

Im going to take Potosi and Shullsburg to pull the upsets, and im going to take Pec because i dont know much about Racine Lutheran.

Once again for like the 6th or 7th straight year a team from the SR will make it to the 3rd round of the playoffs.

Congrats to Benton/Scales Mound for their Level 2 win against Shullsburg.
BSM 35 - Shullsburg 14.
Congrats to the Shullsburg Miners for a nice run and a fun 2008 season. Good luck to BSM against Burlington Catholic!

Great season Potosi. I was at the game. Basically it came down to who showed up to play. It didn't seem like Potosi really got into the game except for one drive. Burlington was pretty pumped up(home field helps a little with that too).

To Benton, don't look at the score. It's very deceiving. Fundamental errors by Potosi determined the game. I think 3 of the 4 fumbles I saw happened in the open field or during an exchange (the other one being a big hit by BCC returned for a TD). BCC is definitely beatable as long as you show up to play. I'm looking for next week's game to be great. That game is going to come down to fundamentals; team with the fewest turnovers should win the game. When someone finds out when and where it's being played post it. Good luck Benton.

Pec/Argyle lost to Racine Lutheran 14-13 on saturday in a heartbreaker.

The Vikings really struggled the first half coming out flat, and only running 8 offensive plays in the whole half. However, the defense came up big on several occaisons, keeping them out of the endzone... they got 14 points out of about 5 red zone appearances in the first half. halftime score was 14-0.

Coming out of the locker room for the second half was an all new team. They started off scoring on the first drive with a blast up the middle from Saalsaa. end of the 3rd quarter it was 14-7... in the fourth the Vikings scored with 5:55 remaining with another middle run by Saalsaa, however a missed extra point kick made it 14-13... and thats how it was finished as Racine Lutheran was able to milk all of the remaining time off the clock on their final drive.

It was a good game, however i feel that the better team did not win this one.
Thats all... I'm out like a lampshade

If anyone knows about the RL-P/A game, I'd like to hear an account of the game. Thanks.

Wow that really sucks that Pec lost! I was really hoping to see them play Fennimore. But congrats on another great season for Pec!

Good luck to Benton in their next game against BCC!

I didn't get a big head I don't think. I simply said I watched the game, and Potosi would have been right in it if they wouldn't have made some fundamental mistakes. I never said Benton was going steam roll through BCC. I said it was going to be a good game to watch. It will probably be the best high school game I've seen in the 4 years I've been out of school. I think 2 touchdowns is a stretch with the quality of defenses that will be on the field but we'll see.
