Germantown's legendary former high school football coach, Phil Datka, has died at the age of 69, following heart surgery, earlier in December.

Datka's tenure at Germantown spanned 42 seasons where his teams were a combined 273-146. G-Town won state championships in 1998 and 2003 and finished as state runner-ups in 1979 and 1997, under Datka's tutelage.
