Tonight on Channel 27 news at 6 said that Pec's coach Jim Strommen is stepping down as football coach but is still going to continue all other things. They are losing one great coach.

If this is true the Six Rivers Conference, Pecatonica and Argyle High Schools, and the state football coaching fraternity has lost a very talented person. I have the utmost respect for what Coach Strommen has accomplished over the years at Pecatonica and Pec/Argyle. You can have all the talent in the world but it takes an excellent coach and a solid staff to continue to put out the teams that he has over the years. Coach Strommen is a class person and a definite Hall of Famer (if he is not already). Best of luck to him in whatever he choses to do.

He is still going to continue to teach, coach baseball, and be ad but has stepped down I think he said was time consuming and he has thought long and hard bout this. I mean the guy has been around for quite sometime and puts in many many hours. That was/is one great coach.
