ProFootballTalk is reporting Bigby is practicing, and, Harris is practicing.

If Bigby is truly healthy, he brings a tremendous amount back to the defense. We'll see how important he really is, when he returns.

Separately, Ty Law is interested in signing a deal with the Packers. I feel its worth pointing out, but I don't really think its that big of a deal. I don't think they need him, truly. If you think he's going to do a lot better than Tramon Williams, or even Blackmon, I think you're mistaken.

You may think that Ty Law is not better than Williams or Blackmon but he can not be worse than Williams. Williams has been consistently caught with his pants down. Charlie Frye made him look silly in about 5 of the passes. He has been burned and also how many pass interferences has he had called on him?! I would glady take Law who has the experience of a championship and has been around the block over Williams. Now I like Blackmon though because he adds the Special Teams factor going!

I am to Jarrett Bush what gotnogame is to Ted Thompson. If Ty Law wants to sign for cheap and enjoy the ride, I can certainly think of a dispensible defensive back on the roster that Ted could afford to cut (hint hint). I think having Bigby back will make a world of difference for this team.

Has there been any word on Harrell lately? He should be eligible to play this week. I know a lot of people hate him, but I don't think everyone understands how important it is to have another capable DT on the roster just to keep a decent rotation going.

Latest word is that Harrell is probable. I saw on the news today they showed him practicing and he looked good.

Jarrett Bush is actually reasonably valuable to the team. He's a very good player on Special Teams, and that's likely why he kept his spot despite not being very good in coverage.

If Law replaces him, keep in mind, someone also has to replace him as a gunner on punt and on kickoff as well.

And what five passes were those?

anybody with 10 interceptions just 3 years ago can't be bad to put on ur team, but i haven't seen anything with him coming to the packers just the dolphins...

Sign Law.

Cut the punter. Time to scrape Frost off the windshield of the NFL.

Sign Joe the Punter, and pay him under $250,000 a year so he can get a tax break!

OR

Let one of the backup QBs punt. They'd probably do as well, and they get bored during the games anyway. : )

It's our new secret plan. The opponents can't block for the punt return, because we have a passer back there. They have to cover. It's strategery!

With the Packers current punter, there isn't a pressing need for a good gunner. I say, bring in the Law-dawg, cut Bush.

Bush also has a knack for drawing untimely penalties. Maybe it's just because I'm so biased against him, but every time I see a flag come out on special teams I just sit and wait for the ref to call holding/block in the back, #24. How hard is it to not block a guy in the back? I think he offsets any value that he has entirely with plays like that.

Apparently pretty hard since it seems like almost every kick return in the NFL has one called. [:-] I actually think Bush has been doing a pretty good job on special teams too and there is no way Law gives you that. 10 ints 3 years ago is still three years ago and time takes steps from an older player. I think Williams has actually filled in pretty well for Harris. Harris actually got penalized alot and was also victim of some deep balls in his own right. Williams will make mistakes as all young guys will and hopefully he learns from them. With Harris getting close to returning, I don't see Law as having much value to us. Plus I think Lee will eventually make some strides too.
