Packers promote Dendy, put Allen on IR

One day after releasing cornerback Ahmad Carroll, the Green Bay Packers promoted cornerback Patrick Dendy from the practice squad to the active roster.

In addition, the Packers also placed defensive tackle Kenderick Allen on injured reserve -- ending his season -- and signed linebacker Spencer Havner to the practice squad.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Dendy spent 10 weeks with the Packers last year and took part in training camp this summer. He suffered a severe ankle sprain on the first day of camp and missed all but a couple of days of practice.

Allen had played in just two games this year and had two tackles. He injured his foot Sept. 24 at Detroit.

Havner, 6-3, 245 pounds, was a non-drafted free agent out of UCLA and spent training camp with the Redskins before being released in the final preseason roster reduction.[/align]
