I have not talked to anyone who thinks Hundley would be THE backup this coming season. I haven't read that
he would be #1 off the bench if Rodgers goes down either. They are looking at Hundley for the future - probably
will look at him for 2 years. Tolzien is the stopgap QB at this time. Tolzien has NO future as a starting QB.
Tolzien is a 'career' backup at best. Hundley 'may' have a future. A team has to draft a guy and HOPE that he
has the skills to be a starting QB. Odds are against Hundley too, but no one expects or expected Hundley to be
the backup to Rodgers this coming season.
I don't think you broke any earth shattering news here.
you didn't read many of the post-draft analysis by much of the national media. The vast majority of these pencil-necks were writing in Hundley as Rodgers' back-up, as if they had no prior knowledge of Scott Tolzien's roster presence or how firmly he is entrenched as the Packers' back-up QB.
So, no, I wasn't referring to anyone on the WSN site or even the majority of in-state Packer fans, although I have seen a few posts by fans on other sites and other forms of social media that are automatically assuming back-up status for Brett Hundley, seemingly forgetting or unaware that Tolzien is in that role for now.
Personally, I would project Hundley to be inactive for all but a handful (at best) of regular-season games.
