Hopefully the Packers OL can hold up this week in New York. Eli Manning handing out pick 6's like candy in a parade to defenses all year. But after seeing the Packers defense these last few weeks, Eli will probably have his best game of the season, Tolzien will get sacked 8 times and the Packers get blown out. Hoping that doesn't happen but in all likelihood, very possible

What's going on in Green Bay?

McCarthy: "We have a reoccurring issue that I have to get fixed and we?ll get on that tomorrow. I?m not going to get into that right now."

Other cryptic McCarthy quote: "It?s about anything in life, you get what you tolerate or you get what you emphasize." What is he tolerating?

He is talking about the long drives the Bears & Eagles had to close out both games.

McCarthy no longer has Rodgers to cover up his incompetence and ineptitude. We are going to see some very ugly things these next few games from the offense, you can bank on that.

here is the only positive we can draw from this game. We may have found a better back up quaterback to hopefully only have to hold a clip board after 3 or 4 weeks. Tolzien showed enough to garner another start next week regardless of wallaces condition.

I actually really like McCarthy's offensive coaching. I think he's been pretty good at making contributors out of pretty random guys, excepting the O-Line. But Tolzien looked pretty good, and Boykin looked good with Tolzien throwing to him--sort of showing some chops independent from Rodgers.

If the Packers lose every game remaining this season and Capers is fired, I will be happy. Nobody has gotten more credit for doing less over the past few years (and I'm likely guilty of that as well, to be honest).

Ultimately, Capers is the fall guy, but I really can't pinpoint what the issue is with the defense. It's always something different. Maybe a poor gameplan one week. The next week the front seven will cause havoc, but there are breakdowns in the secondary. Then the next game everyone is horrible. The next game everybody's great. Tackling is either phenomenal or non-existent.

The lack of consistency is maddening, but where does it stem from? Scheme? Personnel? Caliber of opponent?

I think the scheme is usually good. The players are just not making their plays to win the game. Left too many INT's on the field and poor tackling.
With how practices are now, I'm not sure we can even blame the coaches for poor tackling...it just isn't able to be practiced anymore.

Like it or not, injuries play some part. The other, the players just need to make their plays...which must partially play into the caliber of opponent.

No big time plays are getting made.

It seems like since Capers, the Packers have gotten a lot of talented young players that do not improve at all. Matthews, Raji, Hayward, Burnett, Brad Smith. Tramon Williams got better pre-Capers. Most of these guys showed great things early in their careers, then just never improved. There has been a lot of talent flashed on this defense. The Packers need to ditch Capersand bring in someone who can do for the defense what McCarthy does for the O--develops players and schemes well.

Matthews, Raji, Hayward, Burnett, Brad Smith and Tramon Williams were NOT there before Capers got to GB. The reason those players are there is cause the Packers switched from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense. Lack of development is an issue. The rash of injuries the Packers have had in recent years definitely does not help matters. If the defense does not show a vast improvement in the next 7 games, not only will the Packers not make the playoffs (unless Rodgers is 100% and on fire) then Capers has to go. I'm a big fan of the 3-4 defense and think it is the Packers best option moving forward, just have to hope to stay healthy, change some schematics and improve the talent.
