How does everyone forsee the officiating at state being? Are the new rules and such going to be inforced as much as they were during the season or will there be some room given to the players. The games Ive watched this year have had the flow really hampered by penalties so hopefully the refs decide to let the kids determine the winners.

The WIAA assigns refs to EXACTLY one game at state and then they are done. [That means you'll see 14 different refs and 7 lineman during the tournament]

Penalties will be called in each game and fans, players and coaches will never be entirely happy. No matter what happens, expect each team to be on the PP and PK between 3-7 times a game. How is that any different than any other game this year? Just like free throws in basketball it's part of the game.

One word of advice... Ignore the refs because they are a 'non-factor'. People only choose to pin the blame on them when things don't go their way. The last time I checked a regulation high school hockey game contains 3,060 seconds in which a team can find a way to score one more goal than their opponent to advance. [or in the case of Rapids - Middleton last year it might take 5913 seconds to claim victory]

usually the officiating really sucks.. they should bring crews that work together all year because that would work the best instead the WIAA (dont get me started on how bad of a job those people do, i really hope that president retires.. hes horrible) decide to bring a ref in from here and there and then they dont know how to work together
