Signed letter of intent to USC.

Even though there was a huge story on him going to USC over the summer, I was convinced he would sign at Kansas State.

I am pretty suprised, but it's good that he wants to be known as the guy to turn around a program.

For future recruits he will.

Of course he's out after one year.

That kind of came out wrong. I remember reading he wanted to make USC more of a dominating school by attracting recruits.

any reason why he chose USC? doesnt seem like a good fit for a blue chip like mayo

Its actually a great fit for him, tons of media surrounding him and he also gets to go in being the #1 option in their offense now, which possibly means big numbers. He will probably end up staying 2 years at USC and then go to the draft.

USC, what a horrible decision, at least it seems that way. I would like to know the specifics of what were his reasons for doing it.

Isn't there a rumor that Bill Walker (Mayo's teamate) was looking to play at USC too?

Its great to see a star go to a school that isn't neccessarily known for basketball. Its a smart descision for him though because he will get a lot of media attention out there and probably raise his draft status being the best player on his team.

He may have been looking at USC, I'm not sure.

But he's on Kansas State's team now.

Well, like stated before, a huge reason was probably media.

I also vividly remember reading in Slam Magaize that he wanted to attract recruits to USC to make it a power.

Saying he will be the definite #1 option for USC may be a little ignorant. They have to stellar younger players already there in Gabe Pruitt and Nick Ryan who are both big time prospects also. This team, assuming ryan and pruitt dont go early, could be tough that season. I also have heard reports that USC coach Tim Floyd didnt even really recruit him he just kind of all of a sudden said he was interested and then it cooled off, then a couple a days ago he faxed in his letter of intent.

Didn't Huggins do that with UNC-Charlotte's ass. coach also? To get Micheal Beasley to sign with K-State?
